^ this. Really, EC, this Such a (spelling mistakes FTW) Fabulous Joke is not funny. Maybe one of the admninistraytors should have said they're straight or something like that (I fooled my friend by saying that XD).
April 1st April 1st April 1st. Gotta love the horrid April fools day jokes... soooooo horrible! ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 02:30 AM ---------- Dear EC Staff, Your filters are a bitch.
What are the filters? I've only just woken up. I'm assuming there's one for "@pri1 fo015" (to the "fabulos day" thing) and either "@dmjn" or "/\/\ 0 d" (to the "ec over lord" thing). Nice work! There's also an issue with the icons by the edge of threads – they show up as the old ones in threads I've already posted in. But I'm sure you're onto that.
Ugh, my head is hurting. These colors of purple = :bang: Yeah, you guys are right - I have way too much time on my hands.
Okay, there's apparrantly a filter on "d@y" to go to day. ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 07:49 AM ---------- Where did the edit button go, or is that to prevent us getting around the filters? So, is it "admin" or "mod" or "moderator" or "staff" that gets caught? ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 07:52 AM ---------- Simple enough. "Admin" is fine, "m0d" to "mod", "m0der@tor" to "moderator", and "stt@ff" to staff. Is the "m0d" thing just for those two words, or any occurance of the letter combination "em oh dee"? Test: mode, model, postmodernism. ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 07:53 AM ---------- It's for any occurance of the three letters, then. So the word "m0derator" isn't filtered at all, actually. ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 08:01 AM ---------- I apologise if this double-posts; just searching for more words in this faaabulos site. fabulous April fools April fools april fool's Chip martin empty closets mt closets
Alright, so I think I noticed a problem with our Anonymous section. The identity of our posters isn't hidden anymore, and I don't see a box to uncheck my anonymity. I suppose this is in line with links directing people to the wrong sections. I simply think this is a rather unprofessional layout, even considering the date. Compromising our users identity isn't a really nice thing that resulted. First time visitors of this forum may be immediately turned off; moreover, they may be misguided into thinking that this isn't the type of support site they needed. I would prefer if there was a way to change the layout or give an indication to new users so that don't freak out. -- moderator computer april fools games prank day admin mod staff
LOL its pretty cool but the PURPLE IS TOO MUCH FOR MY EYES, maybe make it darker so the text and forums stand out, that would be much appreciated ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 05:26 PM ---------- and the forums are all mixed up, i click on chat and it takes me to the forum thats suppose to be for LGBT news, same thing for technology forum which takes me to fun and games instead
The lack of an anon checkbox is not an intentional prank - it's something we hadn't realised would happen. I've brought it to the attention of the techies, but for now, it's probably best to avoid the anon section. We're sorry for this, futzing with the support section is something we aim to avoid in our pranks.
Don't take this the wrong way and I'm sorry if I'm wrong but this is a prank right, considering the date? If it isn't, then I strongly agree with everything phospholipase said. It would be nice if we have an option to revert it back to normal, if not, then a simple colour scheme change option will suffice. The purple assault really hurts my eyes! Btw, I just noticed that the background is the same as my personal profile background, just in a different colour. ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 06:53 PM ---------- Sorry for double posting but I just noticed several more downsides of the new change: 1. We can't type capital letters. (they revert to small letters in the post. Just look at my posts and you'll see) 2. Where is the edit button?
OH MY WOW. Here I am coming on here, expecting a generic white background and BOOM. Literally my eyes get bigger and sit back from my chair in astonishment. Geocities is making a comeback. Just needs some .gifs and .midi music.
Okay, I'm a newbie, but I'll put forward my opinion. It's not HORRIBLE, I just don't like how purple it is, and the old theme was very neutral, and made me feel somewhat safe. It's just very revealing, feminine and is a very specific taste, I feel it could prevent people from signing up - especially those that are extremely uncomfortable with their sexuality. It's your forum, and it's your decisions that are final, but that is my opinion. ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 03:17 AM ---------- I also don't like the fact that I can no longer use capital letters, that's not good. ---------- Post added 1st Apr 2012 at 03:19 AM ---------- wait...jim94, you're probably right.
I was just like "oh mah goodness what have they done!!!" and then I was like "oh. It's April fool's day. Riiightttt" but argh! The new theme is awful! It burns my eyes!
52% of members we interviewed rated this layout between acceptable and excellent. I'm afraid that we can't always please the minority.
