What offends me more is that whenever she slips off the radar, this former staunch neo conservative chirstian failed singer makes another gay song to stir up a bit of controversy, and put her back out there in thte public eye. she has done it twice so far.

she put out "i kissed a girl" after she had a fight with her boyfriend. she is still with him last i heard.

She is a exploiter that desperate for a moment of fame.

She is not. She and Travis McCoy (of Gym Class Heroes) broke up in December 2008.

*is too lazy too look them up*
*redirects Brian's attention to the past few posts*

I can understand if people take "I kissed a girl" as a song that represents themselves. but I still cant get passed the fact that it was done simply to stir up some controversy, just as "your so gay" was.

that, and the fact that she isnt all that good of a singer anyways. I heard some of her fundie chirstian rock, and she has gotten worse.

I'm going to see Katy Perry in exactly one week and 3 and a half hours!!
    I'm excited beyond belief!!

All of her songs were 'made' at the same time. She just chooses and releases what singles she thinks would be catchiest. Besides, single release dates are chosen months ahead of time. I doubt she and Travis fought (they are no longer together, by the way) and a few days later she decided to release the song as some form of revenge (And I'm sure he would've heard the song prior to the fight so it's not like it was even a good attempt at revenge. Hell, he even appears in the video). The fight was just poorly timed. That is, if the fight even occurred.
I've been stalking the shit out of Katy Perry and I don't remember hearing about any fight before the release of the single. That sounds like straight up gossip to me.
As for 'Ur so Gay', it wasn't for attention. It was (and she'd said this a billion times in a billion different interviews) for 'the boyfriend who stole my jeans'. In fact, if I meet her after my concert, I'll ask her myself and record it with my camera.
Anyways, isn't that all that fame is?
One plea for attention after another?
And really... if you don't like it, take it out of your CD player, turn off the radio and avoid the threads.

I'll be the first to say it, if I were famous, I'd do anything to stay in the limelight.

Is it hypocritical of me that after reading those lyrics I want to bash the Raunchous Bros brains in? Especially the kicker in the last line. :***: them.

I wanna bash their brains in too if they're serious.

I personally don't like Katy Perry at all. I think she's overrated and irritating.

Lily Allen did a b-side with these lyrics, like the song although some people won't like certain terms that are used:

    Fag Hag Lyrics:

    I like apple pie
    And you like banoffee
We both love shopping for furniture
    And meeting for coffee
We pretend we're into art galleries
'Cause it makes us feel clever
We're both in our element when we're on our knees
    Whatever the weather

I could be your fag hag
And you could be my gay
I'll never make you feel sad
When you come out to play

I could be your fag hag
And you could be my gay
I'll never make you feel sad
When you come out to play

    We don't give a fuck
    What people are thinking
I know you'll always look out for me
    When we go out drinking
I can ask you things I can't ask anyone
    And you'll give me direction
Apart from me, you're the only other person I know
    Who reads the travel section

I could be your fag hag
And you could be my gay
I'll never make you feel sad
When you come out to play

I could be your fag hag
And you could be my gay
I'll never make you feel sad
When you come out to play

I could be your fag hag
And you could be my gay
I'll never make you feel sad
When you come out to play

I could be your fag hag
And you could be my gay
I'll never make you feel sad
When you come out to play

I personally find it an extraordinary waste of time looking for "offensive" words in music when there's bigger shit to scoop like Prop 8 in California, or the fact that almost a quarter of homeless youth are gay.

    Holy thread resurrection Batman!

(And I'm more offended that the title of the song is "Ur So Gay.")

    Wow. Ancient thread!
I like the song. I honestly don't find it offensive at all. She's not bashing gays or anything...she's singing about a very metro ex.

Not offended by the song, but I still hate it. Like I still hate every Katy Perry song I've ever heard. (Yes, even Firework, even though I could somewhat relate to it.)
