Is rape the worst crime?

I agree, in the sense that rape is not the worst of all crimes.

 

I think murder is the worst.

 

I'd have to say torture is probably worse, because it can be so long, drawn out and painful, from being shocked to beaten to cut to having your nails ripped off to being poked by needles and knives and water-boarded, and basically what the US does to foreigners all the time. Well, they also raped them, like those nuns who got raped and killed in Nicaragua, by troops Ronald Reagan supported.

^^Yep, I think I'd rather be killed quickly than get tortured even if I lived. As it is we don't really have a charge for torture other than aggravated battery, which is bad, but we should have another on the level of murder.

Rape is certainly a heinous crime, but not the worst out there either.

 

Personally, I'd rather be murdered than raped, but I guess everyone has a different opinion on that. I can't even get over tiny things I did in third grade; I don't think I'd be able to get over being raped.
Of course, not everyone has as much trouble getting over things as I do.

Honestly, both are pretty horrible, though.

Wow... What a controversial and thought provoking question (I'm not being sarcastic btw). Everyone will have different opinions on this, I personally think murder is the worst depending on the circumstances (If its self defense then murder isn't that bad at all. If the person is a crazy serial killer or they are killing for a nonsense petty reason then it is a different story). Its all a difference of opinion. Rape is still a terrible crime that no one should ever be subjected to.

I would argue that torture is worse than murder, and rape is torture.

I feel kinda... numb, of the subject.

 

I can survive any trauma, and I'm very good at dealing with pain. I'd rather be tortured than killed. Also Rape is not the worst crime in my opinion, it's the third worst. The worst is genocide, then serial murder, then rape.

 

I think it makes things simpler to talk about one target instead of multiple. Obviously two rapes is worse than one, and two murders is worse than one.

I think it depends on circumstance I mean if someone is raped repetitively for years by lets say their close friend or relative and cant get out of the situation because of fear then id say it could be worse than a murder that was rather quick. Of course I know both are horrible and should never happen but thats just my thoughts on it.

 

I'd rather be murdered. I really don't think I'd be able to handle being raped.
