I might be wrong, but things like "coming out", attending Pride, and LGBT organizations are a fairly recent phenomenon. It's been known there were men who loved and slept with men, and women who loved and slept with women, but there wasn't the scientific backing to prove it wasn't a choice, so people assumed they made the choice, and/or were somehow disordered.

Someone wouldn't say, "I'm a gay ___" or, "I'm trans" since those terms didn't exist then, or at least, they didn't have the same definitions and connotations. We were even more misunderstood, in our own separate "gayborhoods" and whatnot, but it was a world most people weren't aware of, or not too knowledgeable of.

I do think there are hierarchies, and pressure to conform, and sometimes wonder what it would be like if there were no labels altogether. Past societies show that it was fairly common for men and women to have relations with both sexes, but whether it's nature or nurture, shouldn't we have those same opportunities today? Who is it hurting, besides bigots and homophobes?

Asia is where the fast majority of the world lives, so yeah, don't go there.

I wouldn't go there anyways, but especially with the tension building with the MH17 incident, and the homophobic laws there.
