Is there a system by which you eat your food, or do you just eat it? This may seem odd, but I got to thinking whether the way I eat is similar or different from most people. I take my food in separate piles, and eat it counterclockwise around the plate, taking the same amount off each section until it goes around enough times to leave just one bite of each food to finish off. How about you?
I always save the best to the last. For example, if I have beef, mash and beans. I'll eat the mash and beans first leaving the beef to the last.
Yep, that's what I do too. If there's a plate with some salad on it, that will be eaten first. Boring vegetables out of the way so I have more of the good stuff I don't have a specific direction I eat in, though. When I was a kid, my twin brother always ate way faster than me and I liked that, because I wanted to be the one enjoying it for longer. lol
I eat all of one part of my meal, then all of the next part, etc. I don't like to mix it up. I'm far too particular about not having different foods touching. I'm not too bothered about the order, but when I eat one food, I then eat a food that I consider to be similar, so it goes in a sort of gradient.
With great relish, and with great frequency. As far as the "order" of eating things, I do a mental check if I'm eating hot food. "Which of these foods will taste worst when cold?" THAT's what I eat first. So, for instance, I recently got an omelet with a side of pancakes. I decided the pancakes would taste the worst cold, so I ate those first. My partner has a thing where the food on his plate cannot touch. The steak, the mashed potatoes, the vegetables - they cannot touch each other. It was such an odd quirk that an author friend of his adopted it into a mystery novel he wrote. Lex
VERY quickly. I've been told things like "you're really wolfing that food down" XD I rarely use cutlery. I prefer to pick up food with my hands. I only eat at the table in public There's really no system. I am happy to eat most foods, so I just avoid hated foods
Same for me. I'll eat the vegetables and salad first and then have the meat, unless there's a time crunch, in which case I'll start with the meat. However, if the steak is medium rare, I'll probably alternate bites between the steak and the broccoli because the steak at medium rare doesn't have too much residual heat.
It depends. Sometimes I don't care but for things like breakfast, I always eat the hashbrowns first, then sausage, then eggs, and a biscuit afterwards. If i'm eating something like a chicken caeser salad, I eat all the chicken first and then eat the actual salad.
I don't have a system but just eat it ha Good thing is, I live alone so can always decide what I want to eat too. No "I don't like this stuff so I eat it first" EVER
I eat each item separately - no mixing of foods! I normally eat in a clockwise direction. Any veg first, anything neither meat nor veg second, then finally meat (dinner). I honestly do not know why I can eat things separately but even in curries I eat the rice and then the curry. (I only mix them if it is really spicy and I have no other option)
I arrange it carefully upon the altar, and wait for the great Cthulhu to absorb my offering and divide it's power among his fateful. He's really not picky, anything but calamari. I mean, uh... I put it in my mouth and chew it! Like any other non-suspicious folk! Joking aside, I tend to prefer things rather plan and don't mix many things at all. One of the few places I like to stick to the basics.
I wouldn't call it a "system" but generally I try to eat the gross stuff first. My sister licks the plate. It's been happening for years, but continues to induce the same feelings of disgust and slight nausea every time.
I eat mine altogether, bit if everything on the fork. My younger sister is really particular, nothing can be touching, she eats one thing at a time starting with veg/salad. It's crazy to me, when she was younger my parents got her a plate with separate compartments because if something touched another then she refused to eat it. She's at least better than that now.
Depending on the type*, I prefer different items not touch (*things like vegetables, if there's more than one type - say for example corn & peas, I'll even make the 2 piles touch to get more on a plate) I finish all of one thing then go to the next, and order depends on what I feel is best while warm - that goes first, then items that are fine cool/cold go last... I think its weird when I see people eating a little bit of this & a little bit of that
