Who are your favorite Gay/Bi singers and artists. The other day I was trying to think of ones that I'm fond of, and the only person that came to mind was Lou Reed from The Velvet Underground/Solo work. He's one of the most influential artists of all time, was so controversial that stores wouldn't sell his albums the 60's, and he wrote about New York/drugs/hustlers//whores/isolation/transvestites/etc LOL. Who are yours?
Janelle Monáe! She is all about bending gender lines! I know that she's not "out" as queer, but her whole mission (she identifies as an "android;" if that's not queer I don't know what is!) to break down stereotypes is great! Her "uniform" is this men's tuxedo. And I love her style and dance moves. Check her out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwnefUaKCbc
Mine are so cliche but they happen to be my two favorite artists in general so the fact that they're both bi is just a coincidence. Freddie Mercury! Lead singer of Queen. Bisexual. Pure Awesome. and my favorite artist of all time of course Lady GaGa. Living Legend. Bisexual. Incredible. ^At the today show. I was there
Well from what I understood he was out as bi but believed to be gay. I could be completely wrong though. He definitely liked dudes though
Debbie Googe is an awsome bassist! My friend was telling me about low friquency noises causing greater extents of ear damage at loud levels than high, and if that's true anyone who has been deffened by My Bloody Valentine (they're have been a few) has Debbie to thank. David Bowie isn't really gay I don't think but he ****ed with peoples heads in the 70's and 80's
I didn't know he was gay/bi ---------- Post added 18th Mar 2011 at 03:58 PM ---------- I'm not really into hip hop, but this was cool . ---------- Post added 18th Mar 2011 at 03:59 PM ---------- I completely forgot about Freddie Mercury ! ---------- Post added 18th Mar 2011 at 04:03 PM ---------- LOL, very cool He doesn't really count, but who doesn't like David Bowie .
He's ambigious. There are many rumours, he's never denied it and other people close to him have alluded to him having relationships with men. Even if he's not he still qualifies I think coz he's defs not straight. I've read him say he refuses to recognise terms like bi/gay etc because 'everyone has the same sexual needs' Also, I seem to remember once hearing that David Bowie is bi? Not sure if that's true or not.
