Anyone here like cooking? If you do, why? And what do you like to cook? Doesn't have to be anything complicated. It can be something as simple as spaghetti bolognaise or soup. I'll start. I like to cook as I feel that I am in control. I can concentrate at cooking and make something for me to eat. Thus, I hate it when I have to share a kitchen with someone. I don't have anything I like to cook but whenever I am hungry, I just throw together whatever's in the refrigerator. Now I'm done, your turn! :icon_bigg
I love to cook if I can get a recipe I want to do and turn on some music and just enjoy the time cooking; I hate to cook just get it ready for supper etc.. there's no pleasure in it and it is just another chore to do.
I also enjoy cooking if I have the time and a clear plan--and I'm making something at least a little exotic. I love cooking Thai, Indian, Moroccan and I enjoy baking. My husband is better at the whole, hmm what do we have, let's get dinner on the table thing so he actually cooks more often than do I. My favorite though is when we open a bottle of wine, put on some music and cook together.:icon_bigg
I love cooking. I like making pasta dishes... they're always a favourite in our house. I also like making salads (if we're having a BBQ). I enjoy baking too but I haven't had much time to really get back into that.
Both my parents cook, and I have been helping since I was a child. Most of our meals were homemade, and we focus a lot on breakfast items. We do eat out, but often we are disappointed in restaurant food quality. I think it also influenced my decision to study [bio]chemistry since lab experiments are like following recipes. Conversely, I like to make interesting dishes just to try them out. I don't like cleaning, so I often minimize the number of utensils when cooking for just myself.
I love cooking! I just enjoy following the recipe to get the final result. I usually cook for my family at the weekends because I think I'm better at it than my parents.
so weird, I was thinking about starting a thread like this last night but I fell asleep. But I love to cook especially grilling. Everything from fried chicken to grilling hamburgers, I even tried my hand at making pizza a couple nights ago (it was o.k) I love it because you can always get better at it. I don't follow recipes, I just improvise (except for grandmas fried chicken) Started doing oven nacho's recently with cheese, refried beans, bacon bits, sweet and spicy jalapeno relish, tomatoes and onions. Their my new favorite thing lol I love cooking for friends and family, they keep saying I should go to culinary school but if I did it as a job it would ruin it as a hobby. If I had to work in a kitchen all day for my job my food wouldn't be made with love, it'd be made with hate lol
I wish I could cook! Stove tops and hot oil make me nervous. I think all my attempts have ended with rage tears, smoke and pan scraping. I do bake a little though. Ugh, the cleaning! I hate washing dishes, even if it's just a quick rinse of especially funky ones before tossing them in the dishwasher. :dead:
I do. I rarely have time for something really nice, but if I do, you bet it's gonna be great. I do basically anything that is tasty but prefer to do the fancy stuff and steaks, where I'm said to be a genius ^^ I came to it because everyone in my family can cook, so therefore it's destiny I also belive that a man needs to be able to do that.
Meh. I know how to cook but it's not something I particularly enjoy. It's just a useful thing for me since I have no one to cook for me.
I know how to cook and enjoy watching/helping others cook, but I only cook to insure I do not starve.
Yes, I do. I took a cooking class while I was in high school and I am glad I did it. I also learned a lot from an ex boyfriend who was from a family of really good cooks. I have cooked Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for my friends several times and got rave reviews.
I like to try when I actually have an idea of what to cook. My meals range from spaghetti to peppered grill steaks. But my favorite was pepperoni pizza bagels.
Yes, I enjoy it. I am the family chef and have been cooking for 6 years. Just a home cook though, no culinary class or job experience. Though taking some classes would be pretty cool. I enjoy baking most of all, I think, as it joins well with my eternal sweet tooth.
