Can't believe you didn't enjoy anything on your "Didn't enjoy list". Ok, I'll agree with Twilight and Dan Brown. Just what exactly didn't you like about them...

... and I'll try to ignore your jab at the Bible. I might be bi, but I'm still a Christian

    Err well

    1. Skip this one for you :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
    2. I really just LOATHED the way it was written. I read the first book as soon as it came out before anyone had heard of it and considered it written for young children, it had highly 2D characters and a particularly unoriginal plot.

    3. I disliked the way they were written, I found that J.K. didn't build a viable world and only introduced aspects of the "magical" world when they were necessary for the progression of the plot, one of my favorite things about reading is witnessing a world being built around you; that just never happened in HP. (Mind you, i LOVE the films).

    4. It wasn't so much that I disliked his books (although I think he over embellishes as a writer), I disliked the way he approached what he wrote about and even more so, how he reacted to the worlds reactions.

    5. The first book of the Wheel of Time was okay, and the second one readable (think I read up to 9) but each book became progressively similar to the previous and boringly unoriginal.

    6. I love children's books and consider myself quite a childish person but Terry Brooks is just a crap writer who seems to write novels designed to entertain illiterate 10 year olds, not to mention completely uninspired.

    *EDIT*

I'm so silly! I almost forgot some of my favorite reads of all time!

Wu Cheng'en: Monkey; Journey To The West (Direct translation was best)

    and R. A. Salvator's books.

    A Walk To Remember
All nd any books by Alex Sanchez (I still need to read Bait tho...)
    Twilight Series
Eragon (nd only Eragon. couldnt read Eldest...nor Brisinger...)
    Geometry Club
    Boy Meets Boy
    Prom Mess
there are MANY others that i forgot the titles of...

  7. I read Eragon twice. The first time it was okay. The second time... *shudders* The Artemis Fowl books were pretty good, except they were very shallow, as was the Twilight series, which was not as good.

I have a lot of favorite books. I mean, a lot. So I'll try to be brief.
    Some of my favorites:

    -Books by Ellen Hopkins
    -Books by R.A. Salvatore
    -Harry Potter series
    -LOTR and The Hobbit
    -Dune series by Frank Herbert
    -Discworld series by Terry Pratchett
    -Jane Eyre
-Poetry by Shel Silverstein (Especially The Giving Tree)
    -Wicked series by Gregory Maguire
-His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman

I think I'd have to say my favorite series of all time is the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison. Harrison builds an extremely realistic world, filled with amazingly realistic characters. I'd go straight for Rachel Morgan. Except I'm probably not her type.

The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck. I really feel like everybody must read that book before they die. Completely captivating and profound novel.

I like your style! Currently rereading those for the third time - up to 'Ship of Destiny' at the moment. Truly a great author.

Other than those (oooh where to start!?):
The God of Small Things - Arundhati Roy
Tigana, A Song for Arbonne, The Lions of Al-Rassan and The Sarantine Mosaic - Guy Gavriel Kay
Holding the Man - Timothy Conigrave
The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold
The Dark is Rising - Susan Cooper
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
    Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
Pretty much anything I read as a child

    And a billion more.

Yay, another Kay fan! He's probably one of my favourite authors of all time, but it's surprisingly hard to find other fans...read The Lions of Al-Rassan, it's amazing!
