    I didn't get the handbook either when I came out to my parents. My Dad said, "but you don't look like one of those lesbians. You're too pretty." :dry: My sister chimed in with "not all lesbians are butch, usually only one of them is." I showed her one of the pictures I had and asked her, "Does she look butch?" My sister looked a little confused.

    I told you that people tell me it's my 'micromannerisms,' a limp wrist here, an effeminate crossing of the legs there... the fact that I don't know the names of any famous women but can name any male actor off the top of my head, my voice becomes heightened and excited like a girl's when I'm happy... etc-etc...

    to the point, i've known people that, based on dress and "acting" i would have sworn were gay but turned out to be straight. and i'm not super macho and act straight, as far as i know, but here i am Bi spent about a half hour this morning drooling over Matthew McCanahey (sp?) with out a shirt on

    There's guys on YouTube that are in fact gay but do not act or look like your typical flamboyant gay guy.

    Their ignorance is based solely on the gay stereotype. The stereotype is a man can be gay if he is flamboyant and feminine. You can be gay and be masculine. Clearly, the've never heard of the butch dudes that frequent the gay leather scene!
