Worth going to a therapist for this?

So I've looked up online that there's therapists that do specialize in LGBT stuff

And I was once involved in a lot of drama

I'm much better off now... but there isn't really a sense of closure in the sense that I want someone who is really knowledgable to give me their piece, y'know?

Is it worth it to go to a therapist just to talk about what you've been through, have them analyze it, and give you a sense of closure?

Yes . They might do a lot more than just give you closure for that past issue, they will provide you with the mental instruments you need to deal better with such issues in the future on your own.

    Go , no hesitation

Therapy serves many purposes, and one of them is to understand and process issues that are in the past, for which there is still discomfort or lack of closure. Practically everyone can benefit from therapy *if* they have a good therapist.

If you're comfortable describing some of the sorts of issues you're talking about, I can probably give you a better idea.

Also, for what it's worth, my experience is that, in general, one does not have to be a specialist in LGBT issues to be an extraordinary therapist who can help LGBT clients. There are very few issues that a good therapist, regardless of specialty or orientation, won't have experience with, or be competent to address. This isn't to say that there's anything wrong with therapists with LGBT specialties, only that, these days, most every therapist (at least in most parts of the country, and excluding "Christian therapists"), has competence in that area.

Well considering my drama has to deal with being gay, and there's plenty of LGBT-specialized therapists near me, I feel like it's fine.

I've left my situation and my life has been much better but it truly bothers me when I think about the horrid past couple of years and how angry I get over the situation. Basically, it bothers me that I have so much hatred in me.

I want an expert to give me their opinion on the situation, and to make me less angry.

    You'd say it's worth it?

Honestly going to see my therapist was the best thing I ever did.

Could not recommend highly enough - if it is available to you then you should totally go for it!

I personally feel like everyone should though haha sooo good to talk things out and get some perspective on things from someone who isn't directly involved in your life.
