Why exactly should we care about what porn people are looking at (unless it's something underage) or if girls want gay friends?

I know of girls that feel more at ease talking to gay guys than to other girls because they don't get so much shit from the guys as they do from the girls.

...Lolno. Go look at slash or mxm fanfiction. The majority of writers are going to be women.

You really should go check out who reads things like Yaoi and Shounen-ai the most... and then go check out who writes that stuff the most...

Just go on Youtube, type in "gay scene", and read the comments section on any of the videos listed... I've lost count of how many times I've read "I'm wet" or something to that effect. Best part? Not all are straight women.

Two people of the gender they're attracted to, none of the gender they're not attracted to.

Why do straight men have such an obsession with lesbians? A whole area of sex with nothing for them to do.

Oh, I just answered my own question.

If both parties are attractive to me, I'm not complaining. Lol. Who cares, honestly? Liking to watch it is a step toward global acceptance and de-jerkification. If it plants a seed of tolerance, I say yaoi/yuri for all.

I have a great respect for the tireless work of our female slash fanfic writers xD

If straight girls find the idea of guys getting together hot, then good on them. I don't think they're daft, In a roundabout way I find it a little endearing.

It's when it becomes the "oh you're gay so you can be my fashion guru and we can have non-sexual facials together" that it's a bit patronising.

I wasn't aiming for a burn  Just explaining how I see it. If a straight dude watches lesbian porn, there are two women (gender he's attracted to), and no men (gender he's not attracted to). So it'd make sense for him to find that attractive, he can enjoy both participants.

I'd have to agree. I have and have had a lot of close female friends, and I've never felt any of them have tried to 'collect' me, or my boyfriend, like Pokemon.

Besides, I'm more like a Digimon, anyway.

I don't see any problem with females having gay males as friends; if that's what makes them happy, so what? I see just as many straight males with gay friends as I do women, especially in the sort of arts-oriented part of the city I live in. I think it's equally acceptable, or if one must use the term, 'fashionable' for either sex to have gay friends.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as they don't act stupid (i.e. being patronizing little shits), and they don't use us to act out their fetishes or fantasies, it's fine. Having more straight allies is a good thing. ...Right?

...I kind of wonder why there aren't many male slash fanfic writers, though. Is it because of social stigma?

I think a lot of the reason girls want a gay best friend is because of the stereotype that they are all flamboyant and love shopping, which is not necessarily true, but it's what many think. Also, you can be friends with a guy who is not trying to show off his manliness or trying to come onto you. They don't think of you as objects, they think of you as a guy that is more feminine, like them, even if it is not true. I'll be honest, I always wanted a flamboyant gay friend for the same reasons. I wasn't objectifying you, I wanted to be friends. But I often find feminine gay men physically attractive. I have no idea if this has to do with my slight preference for women, but I prefer guys with a more feminine appearance.

That also is based on an internalised stereotype about women, too. I think the real reason gay men and straight women tend to get on is because both usually understand oppression (seriously, there are some things my straight male friends will never understand), and we both are interested in guys (obviously). That said, I think gay men and lesbians can get on just as well. In fact, as long as they're not ignorant about minority issues (as most straight white men are), we should be able to get along in principle.

They're probably not consciously pondering hierarchy, but the way society is set up, they see they're in similar positions ("below" most men) and have much in common. A visibly "camp" gay male is going to have a harder time fitting in with the guys, while finding his niche in the vast female world. Not all, though.
