Obviously, you have never utilized heels as deadly weapons.

    That shit hurts~!

I was actually just going to comment on this. It is very interesting how that has gone into our modern culture to an extent.

It is meant for many reasons.

1.) To elongate and accentuate the leg.
    2.) To be taller.
3.) And it makes women seem... vulnerable and more feminine to wear less stable footwear.

There are many 'pros' to wearing heels-'better posture' (because if you can't balance, you look like a duck with wobbly knees. Drop the heels, ladies.), a butt-lift (generally for those with smaller ones), better refined calves and ankles, being taller, feeling superior (the act of 'looking down' on someone)...there are a thousand and one reasons. The cons are deformed feet and pain, being the extremes.

Heels are a pain to wear, and the ones I wear are very minimal-sandal heels, about an inch or less. I couldn't find shoes. But they're hilarious to watch when someone can't balance in them! Was at lunch with a few friends, saw this woman attempting to balance in heels. Made an offhand comment of 'Bitch can't balance' (quote unquote) and while we had a laughing fit, I think she heard us. She kept glaring at us all the way. Was hilarious! But seriously. If you can't balance in them, ditch them. Your butt sticks waaay out.

When I look at a woman, I don't find her more aesthetically pleasing if she's wearing high heels. In fact, women who wear those come across as conformists, therefore unattractive.

I think they increase people's confidence. I have a friend who wears heels a lot, and she lacks confidence quite severely, so I would assume that's her reasoning for wearing heels. I have considered wearing heels for that reason, but would rather not destroy my feet in the process of gaining confidence. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    My area of expertise!

One, it makes your thighs and calves look awesome. I'm 5"11 and tall enough as it is, but I still make a point to wear at least 2 inch heels almost everywhere. It just forces good posture and pushes your chest out a little. Also standing taller seems to make your stomach look more toned too. You can easily walk around in 2 to 3 inch heels all day.

If it's a night out, the heels go up to around 5 inches. Anything over 4 inches is something you should only wear for two hours at a time. This is just a statement or party look. Basically "I'm wearing heels because I can." Don't read too much into it

Many reasons, but if a person is comfortable and it makes them feel good and confident in their own skin, why the heck not.

Walking in heels feels more natural to me. It makes me feel instantly way more attractive and confident than flats. When I'm not wearing heels, I feel like a fricking duck, clumsy and unattractive. So heels all the way! I used to wear like 1-2 inch heels, not even 2,3 inch, and now I have a pair of 3,9inch heels and I am never taking them off again. It would take some getting used to to wear stilettos but at least my heels aren't platform heels.

I think it's just for looks and feeling more feminine? Definitely not a comfort thing :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

But me neither, I don't feel comfortable in them anyway not just because they can be quite painful to wear but it feels way too feminine to me. I think they can look nice on. Oh also one of my friends is pretty short, so she likes wearing them to make her look tall^^

Gosh you're brave! I'm also 5'11 and get very fed up of towering over people I wouldn't want to be even taller but fairplay if that's what you enjoy.

In general, I don't admire seeing women hobble / wobble / teeter around in extremely high heels and I feel like if the shoes are designed for looking sexy can they not just be worn in the bedroom not for actual walking?

Those things are *dangerous*. Not something you want around when you are already in a vulnerable position and things can end up at the wrong places...

Then again, some people are into that...

Also when you walk in to a room wearing heels, that can be one hell of an entrance if done right!

I still don't get it. Maybe the ultra-femme isn't my type.

To make them appear taller, tallness is not just attractive for men, it's attractive for women also
