Ive been singing this song all day, and i just realized/learned what its about :frowning2:

Caught a lite sneeze caught a lite breeze
    caught a lightweight lightningseed
    boys on my left side
    boys on my right side
    boys in the middle
and you’re not here I need a big loan
    from the girl zone

    building
    tumbling down
didn’t know our love was so small
    couldn’t stand at all
Mr St. John just bring your son

    the spire is hot
    and my cells can’t feed
and you still got that Belle dragging your foots
I’m hiding it well Sister Ernestine
but I still got that Belle
    dragging my foots

    building
    tumbling down
didn’t know our love was so small
    couldn’t stand at all
Mr St. John just bring your son

right on time you get closer
    and closer
called my name but there’s no way in
    use that fame
rent your wife and kids today
    maybe she will
    maybe she will

    caught a lite sneeze
    dreamed a little dream
made my own pretty hate machine
    boys on my left side
    boys on my right side
boys in the middle and you’re not here
    boys in their dresses
    and you’re not here
I need a big loan from the girl zone

Considering the pop trash that usually gets stuck in my head, this is a very welcome change.

    "New Frontier" - Donald Fagen

Weird one. This guy tried to write a song in 1982 that sounded like it was written in 1962. Not like it was RECORDED in 1962 - there's too many keyboards, and it's too slick for the sixties - but the actual lyrics. It's about a teenager holding a party in his parents' backyard bomb shelter, and hitting on a girl there. He mentions a lot of current-for-1962 things in the track - so much so that I barely understood half of the back in the 80s, and I wonder if any younger folks will recognize any of them now.

The music video makes great use of live action 60s-looking actors (although there's only two of them - it's clearly a party in the song), and new and classic cold war animation.

Yes, we're gonna have a wingding
    A summer smoker underground
It's just a dugout that my dad built
In case the Reds decide to push the button down

We've got provisions and lots of beer
The key word is "survival" on the new frontier

Introduce me to that big blonde
She's got a touch of Tuesday Weld
She's wearing Ambush and a French twist
She's got us wild and she can tell

She loves to limbo - that much is clear
She's got the right dynamic for the new frontier

Well I can't wait 'til I move to the city
Till I finally make up my mind
    To learn design
    And study overseas

Have you got a steady boyfriend
Cause honey, I've been watching you
I hear you're mad about Brubeck
I like you eyes - I like him too

    He's an artist, a pioneer
We've got to have some music on the new frontier

(Well I can't wait till I move to the city
Till I finally make up my mind
    To learn design
    And study overseas

Let's pretend that it's the real thing
And stay together all night long
And when I really get to know you
We'll open up the doors and climb into the dawn)

Confess your passion, your secret fear
Prepare to meet the challenge of the new frontier

...oh, and that's Donald Fagen's picture on the wall at 1:37.
