My mother called me sweetie once. It was embarrassing.
Most Chinese parents don't do that. Not even second generation liberal ones.
Well, my father once called me "it", so I told him to burn in hell and ran for the hills!
Okay, that wasn't very sporting and gentlemanly of me, but still.

I don't think "failure", "loser", "mutt" (Excuse you, Father, I'm a husky), and "moron" count.

Then again, I curse a lot, which makes me basically a poser of a gentleman.

My parents mainly use "mohn" (=son) or "mohné" (=sonny), which are added to the end of my name. Other words: kutta (=kiddo) and chakkare (=sweetie), but those are mainly for younger children.

When I was young, my parents and my brother and sister would call me either Bub, or Ruggie, depending on who it is. I'm nearly 18 and my parents and brother and sister still call me either bub or Ruggie, depending on who it is. I was hoping they would've stopped now but apparently not.

Booby by my dad. Which when I figured out what it meant when I was 6ish, I demanded that he stopped. He claimed it referenced the Blue Footed Booby, but agreed to shorten it to Boo, which still remains.

Oh my.... Just now I notice how ironic was the name she used to call me. It's not a pet name but she used to call me "rainbow", cuz I drink lots of water (and rainbows just show up when have water/rain).

My uncle called me Squirt when I was a toddler. That's the only "cutesy" little kid pet name I really had. My mum called me Nutmeg when I was being a goof, and somewhere along the line she came up with the nickname Mookie Jo. She still calls me that one.

Dad called me his birthday present because I was born two days after his birthday and "princess" to mock me and because my name means princess on Hebrew.

My mom called me "lovebug", "cuddle monster", and "sweet pea".

My parents don't go for pet names. There's an occasional nickname up till now, but it doesn't stick for long.

Meeko Like the raccoon from Pocahontas and Mickey like the mouse. I loved cheese and still do. Then theres the more "vulgar" ones of course. Boogers, butt heads and the like for my sister and I.

Linny, Goo, Linny-goo, and Princess. Linny, because it's the end of my name with the y replaced with an i and a ny tacked on. Goo, after the Gumby character, because I was born late, so I was fat. Princess, because my dad is dumb.

My mother called me "Pumpkin". My dad called me "baby girl". and my brother and sisters all called me "Suzy Q" after the chocolate Hostess snack. I really don't know why...I'm still called this occasionally by my brother. She said I'm always gonna be his little SuzyQ although I'm in my 20s.

My mum calls me love, my sister calls me Donche (my name translated in Macedonian)
And my brother will call me anything associated with laziness :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. my dad is the only one who hasn't given me a pet name

My mom did not do any kind of nicknames.

My dad did this weird thing that screwed up both me and my sister. He used to introduce us as "this is my beautiful daughter B (my sister) and my other daughter K" When I got in school and did very well in all my classes he changed it to "my beautiful daughter B and my smart daughter K." However he might have intended it my sister and I heard it as "my stupid daughter B and my ugly daughter K" from all the other negativity that we heard from him.

My husband rarely uses my name. He called me Hon or something like that until we had our daughter and now Hon is mixed with Mom or Mommy. I always get nervous if he uses my real name because he used to only use that when he was annoyed with me. LOL
