Ouch, that really sucks. Sorry you won't see it, but Spamalot and Phantom are both great shows so you'll still have a great time. :icon_wink

Oh, and I've gotta add Little Shop to my list as well. Definitely one of my faves. :icon_bigg

    My list:

    Phantom of the Opera,

Jesus Christ Superstar (seen it at least 20 times and acted as a leading role at school)

    Les Miserables

Evita (if you can count that as a musical)

    Moulin Rouge

    and several operas.

    There's a bit:
    - Moulin Rouge
    - Phantom of the Opera
    - Rent (watched it yesterday, and I loved it)
    - Wicked
    - Spring Awakening (it's oh-so-sexual)
    - Seussical
    - Across The Universe
    - Hairspray
    - Sound of Music

There's more.. but I can't think of them right now

  7. I wouldn't have a clue, although I've probably see 1 or 2 I'm not into them really. What would be y'all's suggestions if I were to watch some?

I haven't seen Les Miserables, but I really want to. My friend has the soundtrack, and she keeps forgetting to bring it to school, so I haven't listened to many of the songs... yet

i like phantom of the opera, wicked, rent, hairspray, and spam-a-lot (especially the fact that lancelot is flaming gay by the end of the play haha)

its hard not to like broadway, the only musical that I saw that I wasnt that impressed by was mamma mia, but it was still fun and entertaining i guess

the guy who who adapted the script for wicked and wrote all the music lives in my town (Stephen Schwartz) and he came to our school and gave a presentation to my class about the process he underwent to compose a few songs that he chose to talk about, it was really fascinating

I agree... Mamma Mia was just an excuse to have a bunch of ABBA songs on stage. I'll go see the movie version because hey, Meryl Streep, right? But otherwise... bleh.

I feel the same way about a few musicals: they're just fluff with no real story power behind them. That's why my favourites all have (what I think are) strong stories!

seriously, the plot only loosely fit with the songs and even then it was rather contrived in my opinion

But we really can't complain, because it's ABBA and genetically we're programmed to like it.

Well I am, at least. I mean both my parents did AND I'm gay. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
