Okay, so the original title of this thread was 'Worst Christmas songs' until I realised someone had beaten me to that. xD

So: Vent all your holiday-related frustration here!

What I hate most about Christmas is... the cheesy songs that get played year after year.

The only thing I hate is when people kvetch about how commercialized it has become, while bitch-slapping a fellow shopper for the last Tickle Me Elmo.

Oh, and I don't understand when atheists make Christmas lists... I know Christmas originated as a pagan festival or what have you, but it has strong religious history as well so...

And I detest Christmas Cynics. Be joyful, it won't kill you.

I dislike the commercialism overtones (I work in retail currently)
I dislike the horrible Christmas carols (they get piped in over the store's speaker system at the start of freakin November. They are so bad I want to scream)
I dislike the overly-zealous religious people that lecture and pontificate about their religion's take on Christmas and how it should be banned/seared into the schedules of every man and his dog (irrespective of religion). As far as I'm concerned, it's about family, friends, and putting aside time to be purposefully generous and kind. :icon_wink

Oh, and I don't like egg-nog that hasn't been spiked with brandy

My flights getting delayed!! I'm hoping it won't happen this year, but last year I was stuck in the airport until the early hours of the morning trying to get home.

What I hate in my Christmas is that I don't get the gift that I want. Ever since I've turned 10, nobody in the family ever dared to give me even just a little present. The same applies to my birthday. Gee, am I just plain cursed or what?

I dislike the new drinks Starbucks repeats every Christmas! (I worked at SB for two years)
I dislike having to go to straight clubs for my fag hag and while everyone makes out after the count down I am left alone in the smoker's corner.
I dislike having no one to spend Christmas with except with my family (I love my family, but c'mon!)
I dislike all the fuss over a Christmas tree at the mall~

I work in retail sooo I would have to agree with the music piped thru the speakers! Also the rude evil people who think to buy everything at the last minute and become upset when the lines are long oh and we are of course out of something! Oh and the snow, hate the stuff!

i hate those people!!! its my first year in retail and im already tired of them. They think that we only have time for them. I work at Things remembered and we r supposed to engrave stuff. people get pissed when we tell them it takes 45 minutes to engrave and they need it "now!". i wanna punch em

oh and what i hate about christmas is..... the people that complain that it has turned sooo commercial and that no one knows what christmas is about anymore. When they have a full on christmas list... Its annoying to hear them nag about that. I know plenty of people that say christmas is to spend time with loved one and that dont care about gifts that much. I love christmas. the best time of the year. i dont really care about the gifts.

i just love the weather, music, the movies!, and the special feeling i get when i see the christmas lights on houses and malls with christmas decorations.

I hate snow, having to deal with the constant family fighting, and being asked what I want for Christmas incessantly because I really never want much and I don't think Christmas should be about presents.

I can’t stand people who tell me “It’s Happy Holidays, not Merry Christmas”. No, jackass, it’s Merry Christmas. If you’re Jewish, it’s Happy Hanukkah, if you observe African-American traditions it’s Happy Kwanza. I cannot stand people who believe you should be politically correct at this time of year. I am honoured and proud when someone wishes me a Happy Hanukkah or Kwanza because it means they respect me enough and their culture and traditions enough to share them with the world rather than bog down their heritage in an effort to not offend anyone. BE PROUD! I SURE AS HELL AM! If I worked retail I’d probably be fired on the first day for refusing to say “Happy Holidays”.

I hate the politically correct Christmas cards. Example: the cover of one consisted of...baked beans. With 'Happy Winterval' inside. C'mon now...

...and I detest the whole culture/tradition of "Right, so we see Aunt Gladys in the morning, we have Uncle Tit over for lunch, then see Grandma Bonkers in the evening"
it's be so nice to just spend the day with my immediate family.

In that vein, the people who get offended by people saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas." Vice versa, too, but I haven't noticed as many of those. Grow the :***: up, you don't need your religion to be validated by society at every turn. There is no war on Christmas, your religion is 80% of the US, so stop claiming persecution.

Then again, I LOVE this song: A Colbert Christmas: Toby Keith Sings - The Colbert Report - 2008-23-11 - Video Clip | Comedy Central
