What do you call this kind of candy???

    I call it both lollipop and sucker, mainly because I grew up hearing people from a few different regions of the US talk and heard it called both. Just like pop and soda are interchangeable for me.

    If it is a sphere or small circle, it is a sucker, if a larger sucker or what looks like a string of candy spiraling up the stick, it is a lollypop.

    It's a sucker! Any hard candy on a stick is a sucker. Because you suck on them.

    I've always called those "lollipops". While all suckers can be called "lollipops" additionally, I seem to consider smaller spherical ones "suckers", and the rest "lollipops". I don't think there is any accepted technical distinction between the two, however.
