Currently reading "Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda." I think it's one of the rare instances where I like the movie better than the book.

Don't get me wrong , the book is still good and I like it alot, but it's just missing something the movie had and I can't figure out what it is.

My university created two gay pride shirts for pride month, which I ran across in the bookstore, and of course now own. I think they're tastefully made and really like that they created two options, one more obvious and loud for people to be drawn to, and the other more subtle for those who want to show support and express themselves but not draw as much attention to themselves.

I had a similar experience when I read the book. I think part of it is expectation. The movie is the gay teen romcom we deserve. When I went into the book, I didn't expect so much of the focus being on the blackmail. Now I really want to go watch Love, Simon again.

I was thinking about flat Earthers yesterday. I wonder what they think is inside the flat Earth or on the other side? How do they explain things getting warmer when you dig deep enough? How do they explain volcanoes or the obvious signs of tectonic plates moving? How do they explain different climates? What about currents of the ocean and planetary winds? What are stars, the Sun and the Moon? Are they flat too and how does that work? How does gravity work in their theory?

I would really like to know how they think physics work in their flat Earth theory. I kind of find it fascinating and I wonder how far have they thought about things. Have they actually thought about these things and do they have an answer? What is the answer?

Why won't they do any expeditions to find the edge of the world?

I'm watching live pd and this lady just called 911 on the sheriff's office because she did not like the officer that pulled her over... the logic of some people never fails to surprise me..

This is fascinating. For some reason I really enjoy this stuff. I am also still really curious about geology in flat Earth theory. I found some sort of explanation on that site but it's very superficial.

I found flat Earthers' evidence of things unconvincing but it does challenge me to think and dig deeper sometimes. There is a lot of talking about the direction of a whirl in a bathub. I remember when my stepmom claimed that it's direction is different on the different sides of the globe but I noticed it rotating randomly. And she wouldn't believe me. Coriolis effect is far too weak to affect things like that.

Very interesting though. The Bedford level experiment made me think a bit. Basically people put a series of flags on the surface of a river and saw no evidence of the curvature of the Earth when they looked at the flags through a telescope. Later it was explained. Light bends on the atmosphere and later experiments provided different results. Flat Earthers don't believe that I guess. Their theories about light are interesting.

Also the distances between the continents in the far south should be huge according to flat Earth maps. There the North Pole is usually the center of the Earth. So the distance between Kap Horn and South Africa for example should be much longer than it actually is.

But the flat Earth theory is surprisingly well crafted. I can respect stuff like that. It's very interesting.

I am kind of envious of people who believe in these things actually. I would like to explore something unknown, conduct experiments with simple equipment and craft new theories about something I believe in. It would be awesome.

    Soooo let's see...
My sister got married yesterday! Now I can officially use the easier descriptor of "my brother-in-law" instead of "my sister's fiancé." It was a fantastic day, just an incredibly exhausting weekend!

I also had my second interview at a school district last week. It's my district I graduated from and they have two positions open. Based on every application timeline I know from the district, they only do two rounds of interviews and make decisions fairly quickly so I'm really hoping I hear this week. The downside of the district is that they're not one to call and tell you you didn't make it. It's not my ideal district (I kind of was liking the idea of moving), but it is a great school district and it pays well.

I feel like I should be doing more even though I work and go to school for 50 hours a week total.
