Imho minorities should be exempt for mental health issues. It's like "The very valid fear of being treated differently/fired/attacked isn't enough? Okay, let's give him anxiety over placing a can in the wrong spot".

Praying my coworkers stfu and let me work in silence tomorrow. Or that reality isn't as bad as my anxiety.

I'm not motivated enough to pick something to call it a "dream" then work at it until I reach the top. I can name a few things that I am good at, or find interesting, but it doesn't go beyond it. I know there's nothing wrong with that, but I feel like I *have* to pick something to be passionate about, so my life wouldn't become a waste.

There is actually a lot of research being done on this right now.

A lot of the research in the US is about how black communities have dealt with PTSD and generational trauma for so many, many years and the effects of that trauma can have. Its fucking nuts if you truly think about how some minorities in the US have had to survive.

Being lgbt alone is a fucking nightmare. Two weeks ago or so a group of us were talking about how we survived our youth. Many of us thought we would for sure be dead by now mostly by suicide. A lot of us are now trying to live a future that we never thought we would see. And while I'm grateful a lot of us made it, we all spent almost half of our lives trying to simply survive.

The craziest part is how used to it we all become. Like, this is not normal. Most kids don't have to learn how to survive a very violent world from such a young age and without any support from family or friends, yet most lgbt people do just that. Its a real concern of what that level of trauma does to you long term.

Tons of hugs your way. I hope you are feeling a tad better today

That moment when you realize your casual interest in reading psychology and neuroscience textbooks might not be so casual anymore...there's 4 more too.

It's been a wild week at my school. One of the 10th graders killed himself Tuesday morning and I had to read off this script to my first period (in which I have one of his younger brothers...who was obviously not in school) and we've just slowly been finding out new details. I'm in the middle school, but the middle school and high school share a building so all day I just hear students getting called down to the high school guidance office.

In positive news, though, I'm planning on pitching my novel for #DVpit on Twitter next month and they just had a critique giveaway in prep for the event and I got a DM today telling me that I was picked as someone to get a critique!

I survived having 2 of my wisdom teeth removed without sedation and did not have a total panic attack. I'm also not in a ton of pain, in fact it was a relief when they took out the one that caused problems.

Now, I would just like to be able to ear normal food again.

I didn’t realize until a couple days ago that I still have anxiety, it’s just gotten really really subtle.

I have times where my brain will emotionally numb me somewhat to block out anxiety to lower the effect a little.

Why the hell is it still this goddamn cold!?!? It's March! There shouldn't be snow, I shouldn't have to bundle up just to get to the car.

I want my warm weather, I want to open my windows, and I want to wear shorts, dammit!

Crossing fingers that my blood tests (Fasting glucose and no idea what the other thing is called) come back normal. My dad has diabetes, and since I'm overweight, my chances are so much higher. I'm already bipolar, don't want to be diabetic too. Good time as any to really work on losing weight *wipes sweat from forehead* Lol
