The terrorist attack today in Orlando, the terrorist attacks in Israel from Thursday and a bunch of other horrible acts of violence that occurred over the last 5 days or so.

I hope, for all of us, as humans, that this week will be happy and safe.

I have a BS and haven't taken an English class. I don't think my ENGL 1310 (Comp I) counts cause all we did was write essays. We didn't even read literature xD

I'm gonna go to bed. Hopefully, I get no nightmares. I don't know if I can handle any nightmares. I'm honestly scared.

I can honestly say that this weekend has probably been the most painful weekend in my life so far yet it pales in comparison to those who were directly affected by this.

I woke up almost two hours ago after crying myself to sleep. I knew I'd be sick today. For once it comes in handy because at least I can stay at home and don't have to interact with my friends. But I can't be sick for the rest of the week, I am so busy, tomorrow is my friend's (or is she? :frowning2: ) birthday and my graduation prom is on Saturday. Ugh.

This is about the incident on Sunday and weapons so I didn't want to write it openly since it is so fresh in our memory. Caveat lector.

I have gone back and forth on this issue and it pains me to say it but I think the best way to hopefully reduce the number of casualties in mass shootings is to have more armed people. I'm not saying civilians can respond better to an armed attacker than the police, but the police will take minutes (hours) to respond. Having more armed people will not guarantee mass shootings diminish, but it will give people a chance. For some reason I was reminded of the time in the Bible when Haman wanted to annihilate the Jews and Queen Esther advocated on behalf of the Jews to King Xerxes to allow the Jews to arm themselves and protect themselves (Esther 8 and 9).

Guns aren't the solution, but they are a form of treatment for a chronic condition.

I know that in places like nightclubs guns aren't permitted by statute or by rules of the establishment, but I still feel in the long run it would benefit to be more "open" to people being armed.

How I am having symptoms of a "mid-life crisis" and why I even have it in the first place when I am not within this age group....

I'm mentally exhausted... With the shooting, these job interviews, work, school, and my upcoming move across the world... I just feel so drained.
