    My boyfriend is bisexual and has a daughter who is six, nearly seven. I've known her since, and was introduced to her, when my boyfriend and I first started dating and that was over three years ago. So, she's always been familiar with me pretty much and I adore her. She's the cutest and and is so outgoing. Usually I can talk her out of her stubborn fits and tantrums when her mother and her father cannot and I like to think that we get along well. And even though I've known her for years I don't think my exact relationship to her was ever bluntly explained until today. Today, her mom explained the whole situation to her, because she's staying with us this weekend for the first time in a while and she's old enough to "get it." This is their conversation, verbatim.

    Mom: Daddy and Kidd will sleep in their bed and you will sleep on the couch.
    Daughter: Ok.
    Mom: Do you understand that Kidd is Daddy's boyfriend?
    Daughter: What do you mean by that?
    Mom: Well, Kidd is Daddy's boyfriend, just like XXXX is my boyfriend.
    Daughter: So...if Daddy marries Kidd..I'll have ANOTHER step dad?
    Mom: Yes, I suppose that's true.
    Daughter: How many dads am I going to have?!?! 8?!?! 100?!?
