I woke up much too early, my sleeping hours are all messed up...

I can't go back to sleep, but it's so bright and horrible (it's morning) I don't want to get out of bed...

There's nowhere I can look that I won't find something horrible. Just this morning I watched a man die while people laughed at him. He just laid on the floor for hours having seizures until he stopped breathing.

All I can do is watch and learn how horrible the world really is. The worst part being there's always something worse. I can't go outside or read a book or go to youtube or facebook or watch tv without hearing about this stuff. If we aren't all living in hell already I'm terrified to think about what it must really be like.

I totally get how you feel.
Have you considered joining some sort of organisation to make a change? It might make you feel better. I'm active in Amnesty and do some things here and there. It is very rewarding even though it can be tough at times. Just a suggestion.

I'm sorry you had to watch that and I'm sorry that it even happened.

There are good sides to everything and although the bad happens, there will always be a good to make up for it. All this bad happens, we see it on TV, in books, on the internet, but then, there is progress as well. The world is becoming better, and as we grow to understand it more and more, the rate of that will only increase. Try to focus on what you enjoy doing, else it'll all get to you. I can't pay attention to the news lest it depress me, so I ignore it, I may be less knowledgeable of world affairs, but I'm also happier for it. Maybe find your own way to help as well? A charity or something like that, so you know you're making a difference to people and helping the world get better

I don't think anything will ever be perfect, but it's still something and it's still helping someone.

There's pretty much no hope when it comes to completing the FAFSA next year...

I put in a request to petition for the child support money. And I asked a counselor what I should do about the FAFSA if my mom doesn't hand over the information I need. Basically told that I'm still going to need my mom's fucking information...

What the hell? What about people who have abusive or absent parents? What the hell are they supposed to do? Basically you're saying that an abusive, shithead of a parent can still ruin their college aged kid's life...

If my brother is still on good enough terms with her, maybe he can give me the information I need. But otherwise, it's insane.

I have no financial support from my mother. She's never so much as bought me a pencil. I don't have mommy and daddy funding my education like they seem to assume most people do. I've always been on my own for college and I think my financial information and the amount of aid I receive needs to depend solely on the amount of income I'm earning. I'm a legal adult for god fucking sake. If I can join the military and get tried as an adult in a court of law, then why the fuck can't I be considered financially independent by a fucking college?

So there's a pride parade next month, and right after that, the possibility of a living history event, which will take place barely a few blocks away from the pride parade.

I don't know. Should I attend the pride parade? I'll be kind of weird going there all alone in the first place, and chances are I will have to walk around either in uniform or with a quite bulky knapsack.

What do you think? Should I?
