I'm currently reading Never Missing, never found by Amanda Panitch.

It doesn't come out until next week but I'm lucky enough to get advanced copies of books since I'm a blogger. It sucks so far tho :frowning2:

I'm reading The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression. Quite dense and a little outdated, but very, very illuminating.

Don't know if they were mentioned already, but the books by Jay Bell are absolutely must-read material for lgb-folks:

    Code Talker.

Yea, the original books based on Navajo marines. Not about the character from metal gear solid 5. Even though he was one.

After finishing Dubliners a few days ago, I've started Ulysses. Not so much 'difficult' to read, despite having references I don't get off-hand, it's harder to process since it's a mix of getting into the characters' thoughts while simultaneously incorporating a variety of details of the world around them.

It's been an enjoyable ride so far.

Dubliners may be my favorite short-story collection. I can't tell you how many essays I've written on it! I read Ulysses years ago, but I had a "reading guide" to help me along (it provided most of the information about the plot structure and the meaning of the references). I'd like to try reading it again without the guide as I feel that I could now understand it a lot better

Is that good? I'm reading IT currently (I'm nowhere near done with that monster of a book though :frowning2:) and I love his writing style.

I'm also reading The Trials of Apollo- it's fantastic. Dude, my ship sailed!(!)

  10. Currently reading The night in Lisbon, by Erich Maria Remarque.
    Really worth a read.

Just started The Adventures of Augie March by Saul Bellow. Never read anything by Bellow and this is his most popular work, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, by JK Rowling, as well as The Wind-up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. Not much to say about either at the minute but neither author disappoints.

The Martian by Andy Weir. I skim over all the science jargon-y bits, which probably means I'm only really reading thirty percent of the book

How to Stay Sane by Phillipa Perry. I picked up the book a year or so ago, due to its interesting appearance, but only started reading it a month or two ago (I am a super slow reader, reading only a handful of pages every week).

It's written very nicely. Very inviting and easy to comprehend; no need to go back and read sentences, trying to understand what the author meant.

I think I would've enjoyed it more a few years ago, when i was a total psychology noob, but I still enjoy reading it. I would recommend it to anyone who finds themselves constantly in the middle of mental drama, or anyone who's just a sucker for a nice matte book cover.

Started 'Father Sergius' by Tolstoy the other evening from a new collection I bought; also intending to begin Ancient China from the old Time-Life 'Great Ages of Man' series.
