I have seen that thread about Australia and back then about Canada and I thought it was a interesting thread, them I decided to do it about Brazil.
But this thread have a little difference: Brazil almost dont have representation on EC.. Canada and Autralia we can found lots of people here, what make sense since in Brazil we dont speak english.

The point is... Which are your first thoughts when you think about Brazil?

Brazil: home to the Brazilian wandering spider..(gets its name because this little "bug"ger punpunpunpun does not make a web but instead wanders the jungle floor in search for its next victim! !) A.k.e. The most venomous arachnid on this earth. The venom causes extreme pain, inflammation, loss of muscle control, breathing problems, resulting in paralysis and eventual asphyxiation... I think statistics said out of 7,000 cases only ten died.

The first concepts that appear in my mind are tropical heat, beaches, and huge cities.

    Massive poverty, but it's improving
The largest Portuguese-speaking population in the world
Although it's portrayed as a white country, most of the population are dark
Beautiful nature, but in danger due to agriculture and industrialisation
    Extremely diverse indigenous communities
The capital is located deep in the Amazon (though the rain-forest around it has been thinning)
Vibrant festivals and a massive tourist trap in Rio de Janeiro
    Large coffee production

Enthusiastic gay guys spamming last.fm shoutboxes and Facebook pages of female pop artists.
Ethnic diversity / loads of mixed families, which is really cool.

I've been lucky to visit Brasil twice, so my first thoughts of Brasil are basically memories of being there. (Lots about the food - so delicious!)

    Londrina (family friends live there)
    Cheddar McMelt from McDonalds
    Guaraná Antarctica
    Pão de queijo
    Cataratas do Iguaçu
    Havaianas
    Elevador Lacerda
Driving through rainforest in southern Paraná and Santa Catarina
    Churrasco (especially the picanha!)
    Constant parties and celebrations
The old and overcrowded airports (São Paulo Guarulhos, I'm looking at you!)
    Sertanejo
    Apartments
    Lush countryside
    Feijoada
    Beaches
    Balneário Camboriú

Great music, especially the weirder stuff like Tom Ze!

Lots of amazing wildlife, including one of my favorite animals, the giant ant-eater.

Amazing animal. No teeth, and it uses the ants' own stinging acid to help digest them.

Oh, Carmen Miranda. Amazing, her early music, before she was used and abused by Hollywood.

Oh God, I want to comment everything, cuz its funny see the point of view of foreigners about us, but I will comment just the ones that called more my attention...

We are neither most dark or white, we are other "color" but I dont know the name in english. And a curiosity: the brazilian IBGE (Institute of Geography and Statistics) have recorded more than 100 skin tones/ethnicities.

And just correcting.. Our capital isnt located at Amazon, it's in DF (Federal District).

It's not in middle of no where , get a look here. Most of Amazonas really is what we can call "no where" but Manaus it's a good city

You should be talking about "Christian Pior", he's funny. I used to listen his show at fm, but I'm without time now ://

Yeah, our Ethnic is pretty diversified, but dont confuses it as we are gay accepting or things like this (a lot of people does). The majority is still close minded, but it's getting better, we already can marry

Brazil is really cool to travel indeed

Why do you think I got fat? Our food is delicious *pride*
Next time try Guaraná Jesus it's pretty good, but we just have it in only one state (Maranhão)

And I needed to bold Havaianas cuz is a reason I used to fight A LOT with my mother  ... I just use havaianas and all stars (it's comfortable :icon_wink) and my mom get really mad about it cuz "it isnt feminine" (but I never stopped to do this )

Why is everybody talking about our meat? Is really that good?
I'm so used to it that I think our meat is pretty usual.....

My brazillian friend once took us to a brazillian BBQ restaurant and told me what I should eat that was authentically brazillian, and it was like I died and went to HEAVEN. Yes, it is most DEFINITELY that good! xD

We had some brazillian girls in charge of cooking at a friends BBQ a few years ago, and they seasoned this big slab of meat and I can STILL remember the taste, it remains to this day the single best piece of meat I've ever had the pleasure of eating...it's just so well seasoned...mmmmm
