My school starts back August 4th! What the hell?! I need another two weeks after that! And I'm not ready to be a Sophomore! I want to stay a freshman forever! Screw it. I'm a freshman until I graduate. I'll graduate as a freshman. Shut up! I'm not in denial! XD Seriously though...what school goes back at the beginning of August? That's just wrong...please tell me it's not just my area that sucks. Anyone else have this issue?
Huh, I figured the time ours started back in high school - around August 20th or so - was one of the earliest in the nation. Does your summer break start mid-May, then?
Where I live, the school year started in april, but for some reason they decided, when I was in 10th grade, to slowly bring it forward to January. So every year till I left school, we started a month early every year which just sucked.
I remember how much I hated that! They claim that it's for "football and other sports", so they have enough time to practice . It gets better in college. I went back August 26th last year, so...hang in there!
You aren't alone. My school starts on the fourth of August as well. However, we also get summer break earlier. You probably do too. ... Wait, you're from - Hey... ... SUSPICIOUS EYE GLANCE I think we may live in the same area. Not many areas start like we do... EDIT: Probably not. Tennessee is a big place. Would be an amazing thing if I actually saw you at school, though. Ours do.
I don't start until the second week of September...I finish school in April aswell. So I think it may be your area
So, let me get this straight. You are provided free education until college, and the thing you are most concerned about is that your school is opening 2 weeks earlier than you'd like? Well, damn. No wonder I don't have any friends.
My best friend's school starts the first week of August. I feel bad for her, but I start after Labor Day! But then summer doesn't start until late June for me, so it all evens out I suppose.
Tennessee is ridiculous. And I'm in the tri state area, by the way. Because that's totally specific...and our break does start mid may.
If you're in post secondary, then almost all post secondary schools are like that, due to summer semesters either being a full 4 months, or 2 summer semesters condensed into 2 months each.
