the GOP needs the lunatic religious right as much as they need their limbs blown off, and their resultent wounds filled with infection, maggot ridden pus.

As the country continues to move towards social equality, the gop is going to have to move away from the lunatic hatefilled rhetorhic of the far right religious fringe, which is nothing more than a distraction to real issues facing the nation.

let them whine. let them claim god hates anyone who is not them, or doesnt share their warped, and often anti-biblical views of the world, and america.

I agree. The government's job is simply to keep things stable and make sure the people are safe and taken care of. Religious zealots have shown that they can be pretty unstable and care little for the safety of people they oppose, which would counteract the role of the government.

Truthfully though, they aren't entirely wrong. Morality based issues as they call them do need to be addressed, however, to build your entire platform on it is ridiculous.

Honestly though, I'm tired of both parties. They all act like they're the ones that know what's best, but both always manage to screw things up in entirely different ways when they are in power. They both usually take things too far in one direction or another. Why can't there be some kind of middle ground alternative?

The Republicans need the "value voters" but the fact that they can basically ignore them because they aren't going to vote for the Democrats.
