Yes, I've been feeling quite unmotivated for the past 6 months. It had a lot to do with losing my job, and a really good friendship. I'm still recovering from everything as it's been a very slow process. You could be suffering from depression because that's what I believe I am suffering from as well. However, I do not want to take any medication due to the side effects. I read that the best thing to do when you do not feel like doing anything, is to just get up and do it anyway. It's a lot easier said than done, but it has proven helpful. I think you will feel somewhat better once you find the underlying problem that's causing your lack of motivation. Are you afraid of failure, perhaps? Disappointing someone?
Thank you! It's helpful to know I'm not alone. I believe a lot of the reason I'm unmotivated is I've been job hunting and it's so discouraging. I lost my best friend and first love and she meant so much to me that I've also been slowly recovering. I dream we're best friends again nearly every night and it just brings back up my feelings for her. Thanks for the advice, sympathy, and the reply.
I get it sometimes where i feel unmotivated think everyone gets it at some point just some people get it more often then others.
Absolutely. For me, it's typically about depression and too many issues to have to deal with at the same time. I have been overwhelmed at times.
Oh, yes, I know the feeling. The girl I loved (who I was babysitting for) pretty much stopped speaking to me because of her boyfriend. I thought she was gay, but not so much--she had another baby by him, and I was heart broken. There was no salvaging the friendship after that, and I dream about her as well and it hurts my soul. I've also been job hunting, but no luck so far and it really is discouraging. I have a degree that's collecting dust, which kind of makes me regret going to school.

It really is tragic, but I've learned my lesson. And yes, that's gotta be difficult. I used to say that I'd rather have her as a friend than nothing at all, but it was pure torture. And I have a B.S. in Criminal Justice.
Well as long as we can learn from it! Yeah I've had to avoid her for months and she wants to stay friends but it really is torture. Wow that's impressive! There's no market for that? :eek:
Yikes!! It's hard being friends with someone that you love. I have a male friend who loves me, but I do not feel the same and it's been straining our friendship for a while now. I think our best bet is to stop hanging out for a while. But it seems like no matter what, the feelings always return. And thanks!!
