Check out the website and please send it on to your local youth groups. Please note that grant funds can be available to help add materials to our local resources. Good news for 2008.

The Rainbow Project, is relatively new committee in its first cycle of creating what will be an annual booklist of titles with significant, positive GLBTQ content, for children and youth, ages birth through 18. The group currently has task force status under the Social Responsibilities Round Table and ad hoc committee status under the GLBT Round Table. The dual status is a bit unusual, but is intended to give both the committee and the GLBT Round Table time to adopt bylaw language around the committee charge and organization.

The Rainbow List committee includes nine members and is chaired by Nel Ward. The first list will be determined at the January 2008 ALA Midwinter meetings and will reflect titles published from 2005 through 2007. The Rainbow List has a MySpace page at www.myspace.com/rainbow_list Suggestions of current titles for the Rainbow List are welcomed--please send the complete citation and a note about why you think the book belongs on the list to [email protected].
