I recently discovered the band 'Walk the Moon' and i am currently in love with their album and it got me thinking about how many awesome unknown bands there are out there. So i thought "i know! EC can help me find more!", so here it is! The thread for everyone to post about little known bands that deserve more recognition.

    I'll kick us off with my favourite song off of Walk The Moons debut;

Johnny Foreigner deserve more love too.

April Smith & the Great Picture Show is probably my second favorite musical artist/group. This song was even in a Lowes ad a while back.

And La Oreja de Van Gogh is a long-lived band from Spain. Their entire latest album is fantastic.

I love Movie Loves a Screen by them! I first heard it in a video on Vimeo. Heck, I even used it in one of my own clips!

They're pretty well-known in their native UK (maybe it's simply because I've made all my friends come see them with me, multiple times) but erm, YES. Their newer material is perhaps deservedly not given much attention and they look like fading into obscurity, but their 'Names' EP is a good return to form.

This track somehow has a pitiful 3000 views and their last.fm just 7000 listeners. Why? How? It's fucking lush.

first band that comes to mind is "the love language." i think they've become a little more well known, but i still don't hear much about them in mainstream media.

Ideamen. A great and very talented band in my opinion.

I went to see them last year on their first Dutch headline show, there weren't more than 30-40 people... I really expected them to be bigger outside of the UK too.

Nine Days! They were kin of a one hit wonder with "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" but their other music is really good.

    I LOVE Antigone Rising...
Although, since Cassidy left, it's not nearly the same. Her voice and energy was amazing. I still love them, but the old-style stuff with her as lead...unreal.

Funny, the first band that came to mind was Walk The Moon. My friend got me into them and I can't stop listening now!

I also really like Two Door Cinema Club. Handshake by them is one of my favorite songs.

Wow, loads of awesome music. That song by Ideamen (i assume its called 'uneventful day') was awesome

I'm gonna throw another in the mix

Wolfsheim were (sadly split now) a german synth-pop duo and were one of my favourite bands when i was a teenager for many years. For a german band it is surprising how many of their songs are actually in english though.

    Yesss they're really good

    Time for more band spam

While She Sleeps - Seven Hills - YouTube - melodic hardcore/metalcore. they deserve the love
Last Witness - "The Void" Distort Ent / Holy Roar Records - YouTube - More hardcore. Some very, very good hardcore. Best album of 2012 in my opinion.

    And some other stuff.
Hockey - Too Fake - YouTube - indie rock. Probably more well-known. I'm looking forward to their new album.
Frittenbude - Wings - YouTube - German electro stuff, in addition to the other German bands from the last few posts. It's sung in German and I don't understand a word they say but I still like it. Watch the video - it's very good. It's gay themed too, rather sad though.
