"It's what!?" The only thing keeping Sky from ripping the hat off was the scorching sun above.

 

He laughed. "Just kidding. It is technically part of me, though. Like all my clothes, it's part of the limited shape shifting I'm capable of. It's made of keratin. So like wearing heavily processed wool or some other animal product."

 

"Oh..." Sky still looked uncomfortable, but they weren't about to rip the hat off their head in disgust.

 

"For instance..." He clicked his fingers and the hat's colour shifted to match Sky's shirt. "Simple."

 

"Huh. That's... cool." Sky looked at the hat, impressed.

 

"Hey, Fae, do you know where Sein and Adam are?" The vampire lord asked the Cat Sidhe.
"Yeah. He's in Germany right now. I think he was on his way to Moscow." Fae answered, scratching behind one of his cat ears.
"He did mention wanting to travel Europe... Well, I think I'll go visit him. Maybe travel with him. Can't leave a 7-year-old alone all the time, even a well-protected one." Vidal said.

 

Sky watched the conversation quietly, wondering who the two were talking about.

 

"Well Sky, I'm off to see my grandson. He travels a lot, even if he's only 7 and alone. Well, there's two of him. Vampire side and angel side. His mother was an angel." Vidal explained. "Trust me, the mix of fire and blood manipulation is amazing to watch."

Sky looked like they didn't know what to say. "...Cool?"

 

"I'll tell him you said that. Well, I'll be off." He said and his coat began turning to gargantuan bat wings.

 

Vidal began to fly away. Fae stretched and yawned.
