When I was younger the upstairs of my Grandmothers house terrified me. There is this giant buffalo hanging from the wall on the stairs and I would run as fast as I possibly could to get away from it. I was always convinced someone was watching me whenever I was up there, which was where my bedroom was, so I would never spend more then 5 minutes up there alone.

When I was a little kid I thought that there were*monsters under my bed and I had many nightmares because of them. And then I thought, when I sleep under my bed, there can't be enough space for a monster which wants to kill me. I did that for about a year until my mom saw me and bought me a new bed.

I sleep in my closet. Literally, not metaphorically.

There was a point in my life where I legitimately thought I was a vampire. I would drink my own blood from any wounds I had on a pretty regular basis, plus, I've always been ridiculously pale.

Now I know I'm actually a skeleton hahaha jk

I used to make my hair really bubbly in the shower and then put the bubbles in a container and try to save them for later when I was 9 or so. I also used to have water balloons that I kept in a bucket under my bed and I would name them and make them hats and cry when they eventually popped.

Same! I went to speech therapy for years. Still have trouble with soldier vs shoulder, but besides that I'm good.

When I was 6 or 7 years old I thought people lived forever unless killed.

I used to be terrified of the Emergency Broadcast System (now called the Emergency Alert System). When I was a kid, I'd run out of the room, screaming like a little bitch the whole time. Even now the tones still put me on edge. I may or may not have almost punched out one of my speakers last year when the EAS came over the radio unexpectedly.

Not quite as strange a confession as the first, but I've got a borderline fascination with Cold War culture. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to live back in the 50s-60s during the height of the "Holy shit, are we going to get nuked?" age just to see what it was like. Also, I wouldn't mind witnessing a live nuclear explosion (from afar, mind you, and just as long as nobody was actually getting bombed; like a test explosion or something.)

I had no idea how to play with Barbies when I was 6-7 years old. I remember picking up a Barbie and just looking at it like "What am I supposed to do with this?"

This as well. I'm as far from having 'British accent' as possible, if not more.

If you think that's bad, when I was younger I used to think I was a unicorn. XD :roflmao:

I remember having barbies, and I saw an advert for them and I remember thinking "Wait..you mean to tell me that people sit around combing their hair? That's weird". I used to just cut their hair and give them roles like "good barbie" and "bad barbie" and then there was Ken, the clueless one who had no idea the two (good and evil) were at war with other. Apparently I stole the tiny toy gun from our Cluedo set and gave it to evil barbie. Evil barbie had a gun and mind control over animals (besides humans that is), talk about an overpowered supervillian!

    ...Yeah...

When I was somewhere between 5-7, I was the horse girl. It was a normal obsession that some people go through as kids...
    ...But then it got weird.

I'd sometimes go around with my arms stretched out and my fists clenched as if leading horses along, and I specifically remember this one time where I was clicking my teeth and waving my arms as if holding reins, before "galloping off" with about eight "horses" drawing a "carriage" which I imagined myself sat upon. I was pretty convinced that I had a small herd of invisible horses ready to do my bidding, and I also used to run around the playground like a horse (not on all fours, but with the gait of galloping). Why did my parents never stop me.

I'm pretty sure that this was fuelled by that animated film "Spirit", which was the movie of my childhood.

When I was in kindergarten, I rang the bell that signaled everyone to stop their activities, even though only the teachers were supposed to do that. Idk why

    I know. I was a rebel.

I never wore a pair of jeans until I was in my late teens. I'd cry and get really upset when people would try to make me wear them.

I have a lot of weird stories, but here's a few:

When I was little, I took my twin sister's favorite stuffed panda toy and held her over the toilet to make her "go potty." I accidentally dropped her. The toilet was full. It was also mid-flush. Guess how happy my parents were when they had to pull her out.

When we had birthdays, we were always excited about the cakes - but not because of the cake itself, but rather the figurines that went on them, which we always kept and played with after (we cleaned them first, of course, by licking them). I had a Snow White in particular whose hand I loved to chew. Her left hand is now an unrecognizable mass of ragged plastic.

My favorite meal (I think) as a kid was raw tofu with soy sauce, Lima beans, and Kraft mac' 'cheese, all on the same plate. I didn't really mind (for once) if the flavors mixed. I have always loved Lima beans, which seems to be a genetic quirk on my father's side of the family. I attribute the love of raw tofu to my mom's side, which is Chinese. I also enjoy putting soy sauce on plain white rice and eating it, which I thought was a Chinese tradition for years.

I used to pee in the basement of our house when I was a kid. There was no bathroom down there.
