Thanks for the welcome. I am certain there are many smart people here!!! Academics face certain unique challenges and existential crises, hence my being extra keen on meeting and chatting with other academics. However, I am under no illusion that 'smart' isn't necessarily linked to formal study/ academic level and i am happy to meet and chat with different people. I have already seen some interesting and even profound thoughts and discussions here

It's cool to see an international community here! Makes me feel less
Lonely, & I love talking to people from all over the world. I have 8 penpals
On 3 different continents. (Not asking for penpals here, I know
That's against rules, just illustrating my point)

Anyway, I'm finding more and more reasons to like this site! Most of
The people here seem nice and friendly. I've known I was bisexual/
Pansexual since I was a teen, but didn't know the terms for
What I felt until recently. (I was afraid to look things up. I
    Long story. Parental/religious guilt, etc)
So I'm totally new to the "Gay Community". But I'm feeling
Much more comfortable with wanting to be a part of it,
Thanks to the people I've met here.

    Thanks for sharing your stories!
