As the title says, there's a guy that comes into work quite often. He's very attractive to me and has the cutest smile I've seen in a long time  The first time I noticed him I felt probably the strongest attraction to a guy that I've ever had, and got noticeably (by co-workers) flustered - which actually lead to a coming out that night! But anyway.. That's another story.

From the few small chats I've had with him at work, and some glances and smiles we've shared I'm thinking that it's possible he could also be interested. There's also a chance he's just friendly, and straight :bang:

Going by previous sightings I'll probably see him again in the next couple of days, and I thought I'd introduce myself properly (we don't even know each other's names yet, in my head he's "the cute gnocchi guy"!) and then ask him if he wants to meet up and grab a coffee or something on the weekend and get to know each other better.

This'd be the first time I've ever asked a guy out, at least in a "potentially becoming more than friends" kind of way. What I'm worried about is that I've greatly misjudged and he's not gay/bi, and that it could be wrong to do since he's a customer?

Any thoughts on what I should do either way will be appreciated!

Try throwing him a wink if he comes in again.
If he smiles or winks back ask him out;

    ^ no dont do that...

Get someone to strike up a conversation with him and make them throw in the fact that you're gay.

He might say, oh so am i! aha.
Just ask a co-worker/friend to chat to him and get to know him more :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    Keep the conversation going.

    As you said, introduce yourself.
Ask if he's new to the area.
Ask if he's tried that Indian/seafood/Ethiopian restaurant down the street.

If he says yes, say "Isn't it great? I've had trouble getting my friends to go with me. Maybe we can go there together sometime."

If he says no, say "Oh, you really should try it - it's amazing. Maybe we can go there together sometime."

    ...and there you be.

I'll post an update on how it went once I see him again, hopefully not a "err.. so, I chickened out" update!!

guess someone gaydar is off.. I would do what Lex said but play out a few senerios. For example lets say he's not new in town and has been living there his whole life. You need to know what to say by expecting a number of answers.

Talk to him some more. You don't want to let the what ifs stand in your way so just go for it but don't be too forward.

I don't know who said it but, "In life, good things happen and bad things happen. But if you do not take a chance, nothing happens."

Like what everyone is saying, its worth to take that chance.
Do it, or forever wish you had.

Definitely try Lex's advice. Just start a conversation with him but don't come on too strong. Be casual, just talk. Take a chance. Best of luck =)

Thanks everyone  I was almost certain I'd have seen him tonight, and decided that as people have said, it's better to take a risk than to always wonder. So, I'd psyched myself up for it, and he never showed!!! Ah well, I'm sure he will at some point

I tried it... not only once... and right now just thinking of it brings that awful taste back.

    Are you serious?!?!

All my Ethiopian cuisine experiences have been amazing! One of my favourite food styles. The grains they use are becoming super popular in westernised food now aswel. Ehtiopian revolution FTW!

Yes, a rather large bump! But, no news really. I simply haven't seen the guy since I posted here, which is odd because I used to see him all the time!
