I am only out to my brother and I want to come out to my parents.Naturally I am shy and I don't want to talk about coming out with them. What are the advantages with a conning out letter? What format should I use?I it appropriate to say in the letter I don't want to talk about it until a certain date so they can think it over?I will feel a great amount of relief when I come out.

Thanks an all help is appreciated,

If it helps you, then it would be good. I think asking them to wait before talking about it is a good idea as well. Make sure the letter is simple and clear in order to help prevent misunderstandings.

Email would be easier if your parents check their email regularly. If not, you may want to print it and put it where they may see it.

Advantages: Less scary, possibly safer, You can say all you want without inturruption
Disadvantages: possibly misinterpretable, you don't see their reaction.

I say print it and mail it to the house. Y'all do get daily mail delivery, right? I think that would be cool...
