Here is the original article for those who have not see it. TW: Rape.

Just recently Rolling Stone put out this apology about this story, saying that it was not fact checked...

How do you think that this is going to affect the credibility of all rape victims? (I want to be clear here, I'm not saying at all that it should, I'm saying that you know that there are going to be people that use this story to downplay the credibility of rape victims.) Also, how do you think that is going to change the situation at UVA right now?

I am not concerned with people who are so unfathomably stupid that they draw invalid inference from invalid induction.

I usually would not be, but in a case that has been covered so much, it would no doubt cause a lot of people to think twice about campus rapes. I know many people already who are saying that the whole problem is made up and that this story points to it being made up.

Well this is just a case of bad journalism. People have been minimizing campus rape a long time before that.

At least ever since "No means yes and yes means anal".

But I don't mean to be flippant or dismissive. You raise an important worry, brother.
