    Hi,

I recently posted about the PS Vita system, and now have some questions about the PS4. Mainly, how do you save your game? I'm thinking of buying hard copies of games if that makes any difference. I was researching it and all I got was information on the cloud storage system and how you have to be a plus member...but there has to be a simpler way.

    Help!

You have to install any game you buy which can both take up a decent amount of memory and time to do (it's an automatic process as soon as you insert the game so you wouldn't have to worry about doing anything on your hand to start it). When you save games, some games have their own save screen but other games just lead to a generic save screen for the PS4 itself and it saves your save data to the system. If you are a plus member though, you'll get the ability to also move your saves to the cloud. The save data itself doesn't take much memory, just the install data.

One thing I'd definitely consider is getting an external hard drive. I have a 2tb on my Xbox One and a 3tb or 4tb one on my PS4.
I already kinda wish I bought bigger ones.

Saving a game saves into your PS4s internal hard drive, then as Kibou97 mentioned above it can be uploaded and saved to the cloud if you're a PS Plus member, which is usually useful for transferring to another PS4 or extra save space. Also as mentioned above even with a hard copy of a game the game still replicates onto your console and still takes the memory space. I too recommend getting an external hard drive, 1 TB goes pretty quick once you've installed some games and updates.

@Kyrielles, thanks for your reply. I only plan on playing one game at a time, so would that still warrant an extra drive?

Not at first but as you build up your game collection, it'd be something to look into.

Even if just playing one game at a time, the internal drive fills up ridiculously quick. It would be terribly inconvenient having to uninstall games in order to install new ones. I've never really checked the file sizes on my PS4 games, but I know with my Xbox One, Gears of War 4 is almost 100gb just by itself.
And with 2.5 terabytes of storage (between external hard drive and internal) I still have room for over 150 games that are available to play at a moments notice.

I'll definitely keep that in mind. I want to be able to play without too much bother. Can I get the external drive through Sony?

Easiest would be going right thru Amazon.
This is what I have on my PS4 WD 3TB Black My Passport Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - WDBYFT0030BBK-WESN https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LQQHBK8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1LJtBbAB0YZYD
