Wow that preview definitely made me tear up a bit :icon_redf I generally hate lifetime movies but this one looks good since its about balancing religion with acceptance of homosexuality (and not some poorly acted movie about an abused woman trying to kill her husband), plus Sigourney Weaver is kind of a hardass- Ellen Ripley anyone?!
Omg 4 more days~!~! I'm so excited to see it~ I hope it doesn't make me cry~! >.< Some Movies tend to do that to me~
I know what you mean, except I LOVE it! Their movies like Odd Girl Out, Not Like Everybody Else, Mom at Sixteen, and Homecoming Queen are often ridiculously sentimental, staged, and over-acted. However, they're so juicy and really get to the middle of current issues facing teens, tweens, and prom queens. I also really like how they'll send the protaganist so far down a dark, dreary road alone, only to end with a happy note every time, no matter how small. Not always realistic, but a bit of wishful thinking never hurt.
OMG i watched it last night, i cried so hard. Such a good and powerful movie, totally recommend it to all of you, it was so relatable to me it was scary
I watched this movie last night. I think I went through a whole box of tissues with me crying. This movie is a must see to everyone, I think. It has such a powerful meaning and message to it.
I just finished watching it. I experienced the Ugly Cry several times throughout the movie. No kid should ever have to go through that.
I watched it the other night. It was a great movie and I definitely recommend seeing it. I havent cried that much in a long time.
This movie had Myself, my cousin and my mom all crying. It was so intense, I swear I've never cried so much in my life.
you MUST SEE THIS MOVIE i cried sooo much especially when his brother was in the field screaming Lifetime on it on there site go watch it. Here the link to Lifetime Website where you can watch the whole thing http://www.mylifetime.com/on-tv/full-movies/prayers-for-bobby-coming-this-wed/video/6622754001
I adored this movie and it is definitely a must see. I really want to read the book as well.. but would me wanting to buy a book about a gay teen and his family's struggles be an obvious giveaway? (I'm not out to parents yet.) Not that I wouldn't mind a little hint to help me along the way.. but I would like to be prepared for any questions that might come my way, know what to expect.
It's available for order on Amazon if you can't find it at a local book store. That's probably how I'll get a copy.
oh my this movie... i'm speechless.. I've never cried so much for a movie before... i feel so weak now
I went to the local Barnes & Noble bookseller and I couldn't find it around there.... Maybe I'll have to order it off amazon.com or something. Lol. Although I did purchase a book called "Dream Boy", has anyone heard of it? I have yet to read it. But I will.
I just bought the book at barnes & nobles. it was the last copy. It was hard to find. I had to ask someone who works there. The LGBT section was mixed in the woman's study section.
Wow, I'm glad its selling well but WHY would lgbt books be mixed in with "women's study?" Grr.... By the way, my PFLAG chapter is having a viewing party tonight. We're meeting at a couple's house for pizza first. Its going to be great! I can't wait to watch it with other PFLAG folks and get their reactions. We'll probably all be blubbering idiots. lol
There was a big sign that said Woman's Studies then about 3 shelves down were LGBT books with a small notation on the shelf.
