"I know all about crappy mutations," she sighed, having been silent for a while. "Useless wings, stupid spikes..." Blythe neglected to add her eye to the list. She didn't want to discuss it yet anyway.
Jay stopped chewing and looked at the lizard-girl, Angie, as she winced. "Are you ok?" They asked, swallowing.
"I believe her discomfort is do to the lizard you are consuming at this very moment." Finch then reached into his pocket and pulled out what looked like a brick. He tilted the mask off and took a bite, apparently it's food. He then placed the mask properly back on his face.
"Hey, the wings and spikes may develop to be useful. Mutations develop in the first place, that can develop further." Caley supplied positively. "And what's with the cinderblock?" He asked Finch with a smile.
"It umm a block of 'food', it apparently has some form of nutrition." He pulled it back out of his pocket and struggled to snap it in two. "Want a piece?"
"Considering I left that dead rat out there, yes please. Let's hope a hydra ain't there in the morning, for it's sake." He smiled grimly.
He tossed one of the halfs at Caley. Finch looked at the package and read the fine print. "Huh, this Rations Bar expired 23 years ago." Finch took another bite. "Meh, its not like it has milk or eggs in it."
"Eh, I'd say better than giant rat or mole rat" He answered before taking a small nibble. "Better than some things I've eaten."
Jay glanced outside the cave. "It looks like it going to train for a while." They said, then snapped their mouth shut when everyone turned to look at them.
Jay took a long look outside at the pouring rain, then churned up in the corner of the cave, closing their eyes. They curled their tail over them like a small blanket, but quietly slid out a small knife, just in case. Just because they were sharing the cave with these people didn't mean they trusted them.
