I'm a registered Democrat, but my stances are all over the map. I'll vote for the best person for the job, no matter the party affiliation. Independent's where it's at.

Definitely Independent. Both parties are fairly broken and need to reevaluate what works and what doesen't. The Libetarian party is cool too. I really would vote for whoever would run the country the best.

Registered Republican and I vote that way for the most part. There are a few local Democrats that I vote for, but I'm pretty conservative on most issues.

You should have included socialist parties like the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

However I'm proud to be a registered member of the Green Party of the United States. I also cast my last presidential election ballot for Green Party candidates Jill Stein and Cheri Honkala. (I also voted Green for the U.S. Senate seat in New York). The Green Party also has a Lavender Green Caucus specifically for LGBTIQ members.

Pirate is not a political party, it is a way of life.

though in america, historically, republicans and pirates are only seperated by the fact that pirates dress cooler. we are still trying to pay for the 10 trillion dollars in debt created the last time republicans manned the bridge... arggggghhhhhh; they stole all the booty, and mark foley drank all the rum and fundled all those underage male pages... arrrgggghhhhhh.

Started out life as more conservative, then libertarian, and now more liberal/socialist. I am actually more in the closet about that then I am about sexuality and romantic preference, oddly haha Most my family assumed I am pretty conservative on money issues when, in truth, I just don't talk about them. Then again I am pretty conservative on second amendment stuff (don't own a guy - actually really dislike them - but still support owning them for standard citizens) so I just went Independent and called it a day.

I have more or less considered myself independent of any party. I prefer to vote for the best person, not the party label. This sort of fits where I live (Washington), which cherishes the ability to vote for anyone on the primary ballot.

However, the last few elections, I've voted almost the straight Democrat ticket. Mainly because I know one of two parties will win, and currently they scare me less.

I don't align myself with a party, not even independent. I find all of them to be agenda driven and care more about having control than anything. In other words, I vote for the people, not the party, and I personally think the two-party system is very very flawed.

I consider myself politically a socialist but I end up voting democratic 99% of the time.

    Hooray two party system. :frowning2:

And fuck the greens they oppose nuclear power. No rational environmentalist should advocate anything less than the immediate replacement of most of our fossil-fuel based energy production with nuclear in the short term.

Independent means you don't affiliate with anybody. It isn't a party in and of itself. But yes, the two-party system is worse than having one-party fascism, mainly because it gives us the illusion of choice when there is none.

I am a registered Democrat, but I don't always agree with the Democrats and I'm a lot closer to "independent" than anything.

    Justice party!

But in the absence of that, the Green party is pretty good.

So I can vote in the primaries and have some influence as to who in the party would come to power. At least, that was the thought at the time. There are some politicians I like, but they never "hit the big time" so to speak. Ron Paul was as close as anyone with sense and real patriotism came to the presidency.

Nuclear is dangerous, posing risks to both the environment and to the public health. It's not an acceptable solution, nor a solution at all really.

I am a proud Republican starting a career in political advocacy (and coming out at the same time). My life has gotten really interesting, really fast.
