A friend gave me the book to read at the end of my sophomore year of college. That was a tumultuous year for me, where I finally started seeing a counselor and sorting through all my problems. This one senior girl in particular and I had been close friends and I just couldn't stand the way she treated me anymore. I read the book and couldn't believe how similar my relationship with this girl was like Charlie's relationship with Mary Elizabeth! It's like it spelled out all the problems that each of us was contributing to the relationship (although ours was just a platonic friendship).

I'm excited to see how the film captures that tumult of their relationship. I also want to see Patrick's character develop over the course of the movie (the whole Brad thing).
