So is it okay that I'm freaking out a bit? My girlfriends parents already want to meet me and talk about our relationship over dinner and it's been only 2 days! Am I justifiable in panicking a little? What exactly do I do or just be myself? This is al knew and if I'm honest a bit terrifying lol. Anyone else have stories of this and if so can u explain how that went if that's okay?
"We need to talk." The scariest words in the English language. I think a bit of apprehension at this is normal. I also think it's a good thing - so important matters could be laid out plainly and spoken about. Yes, just "be yourself." Don't try to hide things or lie when it's unnecessary. Be honest, calm, and resolute. Your parents probably just want to know more about what's going on with you. They are expressing care. Best wishes.
I just noticed theres a relationship forum so should i post it in there or is it okay in chit chat? also thanks for the advice! trying to calm down kind of hard to though this is all new to me and exciting yet vey nerve wracking.
"Just be yourself" is probably one of the hardest things to do, but relax just remember they're probably doing this to understand your relationship better. So don't worry. You've got this (*´・ω・)ノ(-ω-`*)
afraid of screwing up or something. like should I give her hugs or hold her hand or do nothing? should I pull her chair out for her and such? I don't want to screw up or get them mad at me or something. this is all so weird and new to me im like in complete new territory with no map or anything lol.
Do whatever you would usually do with her except keep the PDA to a minimum. It's ok to hold hands and hug. Show affection but keep it pg; parents don't usually like to see that kind of thing. ---------- Post added 27th Jul 2015 at 09:07 PM ---------- So I actually found a wikiHow page on this. I don't think it's all great advice, as in you don't need to bring a present or come off as perfect like this guy but it might help: How to Act Around Your Girlfriend's Parents (with Pictures)
so the meeting went...okay...lots of embarrassing questions that's for sure lol but they are proud of me showing up and sticking thru it. girlfriends worth it though so all's good. never been this open with anyone before leaves one feeling a bit vulnerable lol but I think shes worth it all in the end. now to go meet her pastor and his wife sometime later this week and then her youth group most likely this Saturday...oh joy >.> lol.
