New Here ... Mom with Question about 9 y/o Son ... Advice Needed.

Thank you for sharing I have finally found a place where I have parents and people to chat with my similar situations

As well, my son found porn at a young age 8 or 9 years of age. Of course I was shocked and my son was embarrassed, running to his room to hide in shame and I went outside and smoked 

I felt so confused and mind went wild with thoughts OMG.....what does this mean? He had only been looking at all gay porn too. What was I going to say to him??? Did this mean he was gay? How would if address the issue without causing him more embarrassment????

My thought process was……keep it simple. I didn’t want to cloud he thoughts with mine. At that time.. I felt he was too young…. to decision on his sexuality. And if my son was gay….it would have to be his discovery and I just had to be a supportive loving parent.

1. I had to take ownership…..I should have already had parentally controls on my computer.
2. I had to address the issue in calm and non-judgement way
3. I would only deal with the issue at hand

I calmly went to him…. as he cried in his pillow in shame and just told him….That what he was looking at on the computer was for adults and wasn’t age appropriate for him.

Today, my son is 13 and I still don’t know his sexuality. I just recently asked him if he was gay, straight or bisexual. But that’s a whole different story…. 
