Yes, it just happened! Remember, they're like brothers. You said it yourself.

In many places, the world is so different from the one we remember when we first hid in our closets. I'm now out to all the important people in my life. Every one of them (well, not my wife... ) has said that they're just happy for me. I never imagined this, in all my years in my dark little closet.

It sounds like you're savoring the moment. Good for you!

Really glad things worked out so well for you. Take time to enjoy the feeling even with the work pressure...you earned it.

It *totally* just happened!! Woooot! I'm thrilled for you...this went just like it should have...and how 90+% of such outings should go, when you feel pretty confident the people involved aren't assholes.

Work your way up slowly now...you started with two really solid friends...figure out who you trust next-most. The idea is to build a network of support from those you trust best, so that if someone is ever unsupportive, you have *real life* people you can talk to and get support from (of course we're always here...but we're also just words).

And OMG, do something to celebrate!!

I am happy for you, tscott.

Did your friends ask you about how your wife is taking it? Did they express sympathy for her? Did they say anything to make you feel guilty about what she is going through?

I ask because I often wonder what my friends and family would say to me in this respect if I were to come out to them.

Big news on my end: I have more or less decided to come out to my brother around Easter time. I am 95% sure he will be accepting (shocked as he'll, but accepting). But he adores my wife, and I am wondering if he is going to be upset with me about the pain I have put her through.

tscott, all that color and motion in your last post (#19) sort of harkens to "Thank God it's Friday." Congrats.
