Are you really sure you like him? It don't sound like you're around him much... i had the same exact problem. I stayed in silence for months until i finally just stepped up and asked him (he said no). We became friends tho and after spending time with him i realized that i really didn't like him much...

Try to just get to know him yourself without involving friends. It's really tough but just try talking to him for whatever reason you can think of. I've been dealing with this too and after almost a month of false starts I finally talked to my crush and he was really receptive to it I'm 32 also, just so you know that this never goes away, lol.
