My June reading (so far) consists of:

    • Catch 22 by Joseph Heller (halfway),
    • The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbary (finished),
    • Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates (one fourth),
    • La Gloire de mon père by Marcel Pagnol (one third).

All of them are excellent and have ignited in me a passion for literature. It's ironic, too, since I never really read and I have a terrible time "analyzing" literature. Nonetheless it's interesting (as much as trudging through Catch 22 can be painfully laborious at times...).

The Elegance of the Hedgehog, I thought, was absolutely marvelous and had a brilliant and inspirational ending (well, the whole thing was inspirational). I'm enjoying Revolutionary Road, too.

I'm still reading Candide (and about five others), but I've got so many other things I could be doing, it's hard to sit down and read steadily.

A book can be described as a "page turner" which if i am honest is the least I expect from a book, that the pages turn that is!
At the moment I am too busy writing music, doing course work etc but the last book was "1984" and I started "The Brooklin Follies".

I just finished "Light on Snow" by Anita Shreve. I really admire her writing style.

Aside from that, I really need to read "Gideon's Trumpet" for my AP Government class that starts this fall, and also three other books for my AP Language class. This may take a while....

I just finished reading Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown. I liked it, even though I'm not usually a big fan of coming-of-age novels. Currently reading Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters, and I am really loving it so far.

Y-yes I did go hunting specifically for books with lesbians in them, why do you ask?

I finished "Ender in Exile" by Orson Scott Card a few weeks ago. It's part of the whole Ender's Game universe, and so of course I just had to read it. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
