I'm about as out as I can be. I casually bring it up in random conversations with strangers without even noticing, basically. It's just become common knowledge.

Well two of my brothers still don't know, but they're not around enough so I don't really see the point just yet

Hmm, interesting, would you tell your brother if you had a choice? Like is it up to you or your parents? Cause personally, I see nothing wrong with telling kids at an early age. Not telling them just reinforces the stigma that there's something wrong with it or that it's somehow taboo. If you get them young, acceptance of LGBT issues will just be second nature, ya know?

Also, don't take this as me judging you not telling him. Just thought I'd take the chance to make that point

I’m out about like 94%. Changed my facebook status, told my immediate family, told all my friends that I talk regularly. The only group of people I haven’t told are my extended family. I wear a rainbow bracelet always, even at work. I work in the District of Columbia which you can’t discriminate of sexual orientation, so that’s a plus. I’m about to get a pride tattoo as well.

I've told my mom and a fair amount of good friends, so maybe 12 people in total knows. I hope to be out completely by the end of the year.

I'm completely out for the most part, but I like to believe that I'm stealth around some of my partner's family.

I'd say I'm about 60% out. Unless we're talking global population, then it's more like >1%.

I'm out at work, to my immediate family, and to all I consider friends. It isn't something I tell people right away, but I don't really hide it.

I was pretty much out to everyone I knew with 2 months. At first I tried to keep under control by only telling key people I trusted; but once a few big-mouthed people caught wind that "I liked to wear womens dresses and went by Vanessa now" it was pretty much over. It still somewhat pisses me off that so many people in my life thought my personal business should be made public without asking my permission.

Not out at all, except here. The only places I've come out in person are places like a PFLAG meeting, where no one knew me before, which I sort of expected since the chapter in question is in a different city. Also actually a different county. One can't be to careful about such things. (Actually, it just happens that the drive is much faster.)

As for the people whom I actually know, I've gone back and forth with whether to come out. There are practical concerns, like losing job references that I really don't want to lose. Subtracting those people leave a probable majority who would accept the news reasonably well. But none are really in a position where my sexual orientation is really something they need to know. The relationship is not close enough, at least at this time. As things stand now, these people might only learn by other means--any direct news initiated by me would be likely only to be in the event I ever have a serious relationship.

  18. I was out to about 20 people by the time I joined and these stories have inspired me to come out. Since then, my "just came out" list grew very quickly.

I'd say... about 8% out? I've only told a few relatives and friends about me being trans, and I haven't told anyone about my sexuality, since I'm not really clear about that yet.
