LGBT News Jehovah's Witnesses Anti-Gay Propaganda For Children

I'm so glad it was improved Short, precise and straight (no pun intended) to the point!

 

Oh my gosh...well, I am not surprised. They've always given me the willies. I remember they came out to my grandmother's neighborhood last year and my mom told them there was no soliciting allowed. Apparently, one gave her a dirty look and said "we aren't soliciting." Not sure why, but that just really gave me the creeps.

 

It's easy to laugh at the video, but I'm just worried for the kids who see this and believe that being gay is a choice, and a wrong choice. They could end up being homophobic or, if they're gay or bi themselves, feeling scared and guilty for not being straight. Hopefully they'll be able to make up their own minds in the end though. The video's just indoctrination, dressed up to be cute and pallatable for children. It's horrible.

What's weird is that Prince became a Jehova's Witness, and would go around, door to door, passing out pamphlets and stuff.

Seems weird how he could have supported them. But for all his ambiguity about gender, I always thought there was a homophobic streak in Prince that I never cared for, and which kept me at a distance. This reminds me of that.

 

That edited version is much better: Quick, to the point, and with a much better message. That's the kind of thing that might actually effect someone in a positive way. Reminds me of that company that rolled up anti-lgbt hate mail sent in into this:

You know, the funny thing is that my POS biological father IS a JW. And I can only imagine how he'd react if he found out about my transgender queer ass. Not that I give a shit. But I can't believe people fall for these idiots. For one, they don't even celebrate holidays...

 

The problem with this video is that it doesn't even have a point, besides planting the seeds of homophobia.

The solution offered to the kid is "avoid talking about the subject because there isn't really a reason to dislike gay people, just talk about something unrelated and hope everyone stops listening."

The true message here is that unless we teach our kids how to discriminate and hate, we're all going to end up in a world of mutual respect and love.

 

I don't know what Jehovah's Witness is but just from watching that video I don't want to find out. Dumb fuckers

 

My mom even cringed at this one and then I showed her the reedited one and we both laughed are asses off.

 

The original video is revolting. "We know what Jehovah wants and are willing to intrude on people's business and cram our religion down their throats out of love! And there is nothing even a little suspicious about a God with such random-ass, harmful rules, which don't make him unworthy of worship."

*sigh* I'm glad someone had the wherewithal to edit the bull out of that video and make something actually great.

I honestly under no interpretation can tell why so many find people existing with opinions differentiating from their own to be a "direct attack on their religion" and such, it simply confounds me to no end.

I feel conflicted. The animation was cute, but the message was HORRIBLE.

This video is atrocious. I'm currently in a strange position though. I got invited by close friends who are Jehovah Witnesses, to attend their convention this weekend. My friends are cool people who'd even say this video is extreme but the other JWs that'll be there...probably not so much. I don't think they'll discuss this video (I hope not) I don't know what they'll be talking about but if it's anything like this I'm not sure how I'll handle it.

I agreed to go but the more I think about it, the more I think this could be a bad idea.:eusa_doh:
