    This reminds me of a dose of buckley episode (I can't remeber which exactly) where he says that we should get rid off guns completley asmass bludgeonings and mass stabbingz are no where near as harmful as a mass shooting. Well...

    Very odd from Japan though...

    He did turn himself in, with the murder weapons and a full (unapologetic) confession. He has been tried and was prosecuted with murder. Japan does still use capital punishment, usually only in cases of multiple murders. I can't find any information on if Uematsu will be hung though. Looking at the list of factors and the history though, it seems likely that he will be put on death row.
