Snake bite or lightning strike... If it's a snake bite that paralyzes my nervous system to some extent so I won't have to feel much pain, only a little, and I can lay and philisophize for a while, I think I'd choose that. Otherwise, a lightning strike. Bzzt. Gone.
Or wait, a last fight to the death with a wild beast would also be something...

Tornado. Before I die, I will be flying, one of my lifelong dreams, and at that speed the rush will be awesome, like a crazy deadly roller coaster.

    Blizzard.

I love snow and have a fear of drowning (even though I'm a good swimmer) and a fear of burning to death. I guess freezing to death doesn't sound as painful

Solar flare. Because gamma burst is not an option.

Sure, it's a morbid topic, and that's okay because I tend to enjoy morbid topics lol.

Judging from a recent nightmare, one of my least fave ways to die would be from a tsunami or tidal wave. I still remember how it felt when the water picked me up and my perception of time slowed down. I'd probably lose the battle before the debris kills me.

From those options, I would prefer to die from a lightning strike, resulting in sudden cardiac arrest. And I think it sounds cooler than dying in my sleep!

Otherwise, I would prefer to die in some heroic way, so my death feels like less of a waste, but I'd probably only do that if I had a terminal illness or something along those lines.

Im guessing a lightning strike is the quikest so probably that.

I like how "everyone" chose "Lightning Strike". I guess quick and painless is how everyone wants to die.

I was going to say "wow, there are no quick ways to die here", but of course I totally missed lightening strike, and went with Tornado.

My reasoning: at least I'd get to see a cool tornado before I died! Based on my experience (I've watched Twister) they look like fun!*

    *Yes, I know they're awful.

I just thought I would point out that plenty of people live through lightning strikes. Additionally people who die from it may expire from internal organ damage or burns later, so it is not necessarily quick. Just sayin'!

This is exactly what I was thinking. I didn't respond to this post because I couldn't think of a quicker death than any of the options.

I think I would vote for getting completely crushed by a large boulder or smashed into by a meteor. I can't see there being much time to feel pain in these circumstances. The amount of time it would take to realize what happened, you're already splattered everywhere.

I'm not sure how you'd die from a solar flare unless you were in outer space, or the Earth's magnetic field stopped working and we all perished in a fiery inferno. I suppose in that scenario you'd fizzle in an instant though.

Also, depending on how close you are to the asteroid strike, you might die instantly as well.

The worst on the list for me would be tidal wave - i.e a mega tsunami. I've had dreams about that before and they scare the shit out of me.

I think what they meant was a gamma ray burst. A large solar storm can get past the magnetic field like a giant EMP burst. It would be indirect but it could kill you. A gamma ray burst would kill everything though.

I've had dreams before of dying in a worldwide earthquake, plunging to my death between cracks and the earth. I also have had dreams of getting severely hurt by electrical lines but that is PTSD I think after working for the electric company here. I took a call where a guy died from a live wire.

I would rather have slow and little pain (based on what kind of pain I can stand).

Volcanic eruption. That way I have two ways to die: Suffocation from ash or being burned to death. Or possibly both at the same time. At least Mother Nature will have taken care of my cremation for me

(Also it's not nearly as scary as a tsunami. Those waves scare me so freakin much!!!)

Ooh, this got pretty morbid...I likey.

If I had to say, lightning strike or solar flare. Both are likely the least painful, and every other option is likely very slow and agonizing (like a blizzard or avalanche).

    ---------- Post added 10th Aug 2015 at 01:32 AM ----------

The build up to the final stages of hypothermia would be utter hell, and I'd be fine with going out in that blaze of glory if it wasn't excruciatingly painful. The same goes for drowning, which I've heard feels like a burning sensation in your lungs. Not too pleasant.
