If there were a straight pill

Hell to the no. Being bi is one of my favorite character traits. It's like asking me if I'd prefer to see in black and white after spending my whole life seeing color. Why limit yourself once you've experienced the full spectrum?

 

I cant see myself with a girl....
and it is hard being gay but i dont care
i wouldnt take the pill

 

A few months ago I would have said "yes," but now I'm comfortable with who I am. I like being gay and I think that I'm gay for a reason.

 

I'd take it. My life was so much easier when I was straight.

 

No, that would be fucking boring.

 

Better idea, everyone else takes a gay pill.

Deafness...make them all hearing, put on hearing aids and do surgeries, break the skull to destroy the cochlea and insert costly machine here! NOW! We got hearing!

No you don't. you got a deaf person told they are hearing IMPARED and inferior hearing person who needs paternalistic aid to survive...please consider sterilization...so we can prevent or at least abort...deaf.

Yeah, I think it is possible a lie pill...one that sorta worked without full cure would make an inferior group feel like impaired straights.

Would the take the fabled "Straight Pill"

This is my second overall post, and although I still cant 100% say that I am gay, bi, or straight, I'm definitely leaning towards bi or gay. I've done a little reading about this pill (that hasn't come out yet) that alters the serotonin in one's brain. The effect of this is one's desire to mate with a male or female partner (in mice, but evidence states it could possibly be the same way for humans).

I'm relatively young, and I have no problem with accepting being gay. However, if I could take that pill, I probably would. I thought about it a lot, and to be honest I have a lot of worries about it. I wouldn't want to be in a relationship. That would basically be like leaving your partner because you thought it would be better eventually for your life, disregarding his feelings or opinions (or her ).

I've always been masculine, outdoorsy kind of guy. I understand that if you aren't that, it might be difficult to fit into a type of community that finds that weird, regardless if people know you are straight.

To conclude things, I think it would be much different for me. I definitely have a lust for other men, and to take that away would be strange to say the least, and I honestly can't imagine a simple pill to change all of that.

If I don't have a significant other at that point, then yes.

You're assuming straight guys can't be feminine. I know a few *supposedly* straight males who fit in the straight group just fine.

I am what I am and would not change. I have had an incredible, joyous and heart filling life. I love my partner more than anything and would not change having had that relationship and bonding experience for anything. Normal is in the eyes of the beholder. I am as normal as anyone on the planet. I love differently from the majority sexuality. Oh well it does not make me bad or evil or a pervert and so on. It makes me who I am. I would never take a pill just to fit in. I would not want to change I never have, even when times were far more difficult than they are today for LGBTQ people.
I have never wanted to fit into the mold that people wrongly perceive as normal and acceptable. So my response is absolutely not. No way would I take a pill to fit into anyone's idea of acceptability.

Yes. I relate a lot to Beast in X-Men. There's mutants and then there's (no offense meant) really being a mutant. When you're gay, you don't have guys questioning you and staying away because you're gay. When you're straight, you don't have girls questioning you and staying away because you're straight. When you're bisexual, you have girls and guys questioning you and staying away because you're bisexual. So, yeah - I'd love to be a "pure breed" and not blue furred, just like how Beast is never 100% okay with being that way. Whether or not I go through it, similarly, is another question.

A few months ago, I reckon I would have taken that pill without hesitation. Now, I don't think I would. I've found happiness and acceptance as a gay man - I don't think I want to give that up.

There's more to this than just self-acceptance. No matter how happy you are with yourself, being gay can get you fired, beaten, killed, etc. Not that it's any wrong to be gay, but life's just easier to be straight.
